  1. [DevLog] Tiny Tires

Glad you got it figured out!! That's a satisfying-looking bounce you have there.
  2. [DevLog] Tiny Tires

Have you tried messing with the linear dampening to smooth out the bounciness?
  3. XCOM 2

Oh weird, I didn't know that. Perhaps skullmining is a free action then?
  4. XCOM 2

I think Wetwork was retroactive in EU/EW as well.
  5. Whoa, I barely even noticed the second time!
  6. XCOM 2

I chose my words carefully, haha.
  7. XCOM 2

The ammo types carry over to the pistol, but the weapon upgrades do not (I use dragon rounds for my sniper). One of the continent bonuses does let you freely swap weapon upgrades.
  8. Soundtrack is now on sale at Bandcamp: https://camposantogames.bandcamp.com/album/firewatch-original-score Just look at that album art...
  9. XCOM 2

The EMP ammo/grenade is super good against Sectopods and Gatekeepers. Each hit has a pretty generous chance to stun robotic enemies, which lets you spend the turn cleaning up the rest of the pod.
  10. XCOM 2

I went ahead and added myself to Wooben's character pool: Download link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8DARiSc1aDcd0MwQng1SUtzQjg/view?usp=sharing

    Correct.
  13. Hey Derek, good job with those mini trailers. They're great!
  14. I really enjoyed the discussion of Tharsis. When Chris described it as a game about mitigating randomness through smart planning and prioritisation, it occurred to me that XCOM (the 2012 version) is really similar in this regard (especially when played on the highest difficulty). XCOM is another game where the success of your individual actions is determined by chance, but in the lower difficulties, consequences for bad strategy are pretty forgiving, and the player can pretty much brute force their way to success. However on the highest difficulty, the cards are stacked against the player pretty harshly in a way that reminds me of Tharsis. The only way to succeed is by being prepared for the worst outcome at all times, and having a plan in place for when it arises. It really becomes a game about managing risk and mitigating the effects or random chance. Funnily enough, it also has sort of a board game feel to it, even though that's not at all suggested in the game's presentation. It's possible that it feels that way to me because apparently the design for XCOM was prototyped by using actual board game prototypes.
  15. The Witness by Jonathan Blow

I found this within the two hours of my playthrough and it was really incredible. I had the same reaction of "whoa what even is this game?"
  16. The Witness by Jonathan Blow

I think this is the first first-person game I've played where I find using the Steam Controller more comfortable and effective than KB+M. Using the trackpad for the line panels is great.
  17. I would perhaps put that video inside spoiler tags out of courtesy, dayeight. Someone might click without reading what it is.
  18. Games with Dead Cats in Them

That's it, this thread just reached its peak. Pack it up everybody, we can all go home now.
  19. Plug your shit

I've been listening to Shall We Play a Game since the start and it's been consistently pretty great! Good to see you on the forums, Chris!
  20. Yeah, this week's episode description is top shelf.
  21. While we're on the topic of amazing thread titles, Maximum Axiom Verge Urge is so so great.
  22. Making Mr. Remo Uncomfortable
