  1. Unreal Engine 4 Thread

It seems that there are a handful of people here using Unreal Engine so I thought it would be a good idea to start up a thread for it. So if you're a beginner and have questions, ask them here! Or if you're a bit more experienced and have cool tips/tricks/cheat codes that might be helpful, share them here too!

Awesome! I have friend who would be interested in this.

Yeah the gyro aiming is awesome!
  6. Return of the Steam Box!

That sucks. Sorry to hear that
  7. Return of the Steam Box!

The thumbpads can emulate analog sticks, but it's better to make the right thumbstick emulate the mouse instead.
  8. Return of the Steam Box!

I got my Steam Controller on Friday and have had a great time with it so far! I'm really impressed with how versatile it is, bearing in mind there is nearly no native support for it in games (I'm only aware of Portal 2 being natively supported). The few problems I've had with it are due to some games locking mouse input when it detects an XInput controller in use. It's frustrating, because it means you have to bind all of the controller buttons to keyboard inputs if you want mouselook on the trackpad. I can't really blame the controller for that though. So far it's happened rarely enough to not be too bothersome. I tried to play a lot of games to get a feel for what works and what doesn't, and while it's clear that it's not especially designed for every type of game; I get the impression that that's not the point of its existence. I don't think its purpose is to perform better than a 360 controller for traditional controller-oriented games. I think its purpose is to be a good enough replacement for a mouse and keyboard that you can use it comfortably for those kinds of games; while still allowing you to play controller games if you want. In short, I'm really pleased with it.
  9. Downwell! Gun Boots! Treasure Collecting! Falling!

This gave me the idea of rotating my laptop on its side and playing the game in Tate mode. It works really well, everything is so big! I'm slowly getting better at the game; though I still find it difficult to get through the second world. I just unlocked the "Ground Allergy" achievement, and it took every ounce of concentration I had so now I'm going to bed.
  10. Designer Notes 12: Davey Wreden

Davey Wreden, what a great surprise!
  11. Downwell! Gun Boots! Treasure Collecting! Falling!

I bought it for both, and I'm having a much better time on the PC. I have super large hands, so the phone controls hurt after a while. I've also had a few cases where the phone doesn't register that I want to jump, though I can't determine whether or not it's anything more than my clumsiness with the buttons.

Three, including sound effects. Fun fact, the soundtrack was made by Eirik Surkhe, the Spelunky composer.
  13. Downwell! Gun Boots! Treasure Collecting! Falling!

I played a preview of this in Kyoto a few months ago and loved it. I am terrible though. I think my personal best is level 2-2. Edit: Alright, I just got a 16 hit combo. This game is great and feels great.
  14. Let's discuss what a video game is

Are you getting Sleep No More confused with Sleep is Death?
  15. Winter Wizard Jolly Jam interest thread

Thanks for making a thread Spenny.
  16. The threat of Big Dog

It looks like a robot training montage.
  17. Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes

It's great. One of the guys in that video is now attempting the near impossible task of memorising the entire manual so that he can beat the game completely solo. Yikes. On a general note, my fianceé and I are having a lot of fun with this game.

  21. Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes

Wow, a year? That's gone by frighteningly quickly! @Spenny Yeah, that's interesting that you bring up Consulting Detective; I've been describing this game as a tabletop experience rather than a traditional video game.
  22. Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes

I can't stop watching this video of a group totally acing the Hardcore level. It's in spoiler tags just in case people don't want to see all the advanced modules in a video.
