Nice! Apelsin is indeed Orange (the fruit) in Swedish as well. Orange (the color) is just Orange in Swedish. It used to be "Brandgul" (Fire yellow), but that has fallen out of use.

I keep trying to use Duolingo but I always fizzle out after a couple of weeks. It just doesn't stick for some reason. Been trying both to refresh my middle-school French as well as going through the Norwegian lessons at quite a high pace to find the instances where it and Swedish don't quite match up. I have to say that it feels a bit odd to be learning a new language through my second language rather than my first. Not a lot of alternatives that'd allow me to actually use Swedish as the base language though.

So, this little thing just appeared on the website of developer Otherside Entertainment: http://www.othersidetease.com/strawberry.php Otherside Entertainment describes themselves as "... a brand new game studio focused on rebooting classic game franchises" and are already working on an Ultima game called Underworld Ascendant. So, it does seem likely that this could be a real thing and that a new entry in the System Shock franchise might be in the making. Underworld Ascendant was funded through a Kickstarter, which could suggest that this will be the fate of System Shock 3 as well.

The shame felt over friends and dead relatives whose faces you're starting to forget. This is of course some kind of humanoid with a framed, faded photograph for a face.

I wholeheartedly support this endeavour! The "Monsters" section of "Persona World" would make for some great reading EDIT: It should also contain a "Soundtrack" section that lists all the music you need to play during the session.

This mostly comes from a place of spite, but I really hope Scotland and Northern Ireland leave the UK to stay in the EU.

I just finished Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc on PC. --- It was an experience to say the least. Very odd, quite twisted and kept me interested all the way through. Always been a bit wary of visual novels, but this one worked for me.

Have any of the devs in here tried adding Steam controller support to your games? Is that something that is fairly easy to do?

Like Cordeos said it is in effect a protest vote. Here in Sweden these kinds of votes are common enough that voting for the "Donald Duck Party" is a concept I heard about long before I was allowed to vote myself. Nowadays however, people seemed to prefer to vote for the discontention parties instead.

Is it possible to cast a "blank" vote in the US? As in, a vote that is for none of the available candidates but which still counts toward the total voter count?

This is so good! I love it! A couple of things I noticed: I kept pressing the wrong buttons to move. For example, if Mr. Gobbler was moving toward the left of the screen and I wanted to change to an upwards direction I kept pressing the left key as this is the direction Mr. Gobbler would need to turn relative to his current direction. If I saved one of the Superpills for last I would start the next stage with the Superpill-effect active.

I just had the best BJJ workout I've had since I started last year (Inspired by Danielle's stories on the podcasts). In the sparring I felt that I could hold my own for once and actually managed to both pull off attacks and defenses. Even though I didn't win the fact that they were so even and flowing just left me with the greatest buzz. Thanks Junior Mints!

Fallen London just launched their iOS port. Some pretty nice writing in that! System requirements way beyond my poor old iPhone 4 though.

This Titanfall has a free trial on Origin if I don't misremember. Tried it out for a bit and had the most fun I've had in a multiplayer FPS in forever. However, not really being that into MP in the first place I decided against taking the plunge and purchasing it. From what I recall, this will actually have a proper Singleplayer campaign though, which makes it much more enticing. One of my favorite things with what they did in the original was actually a slight "Lords Management"-y touch, where there were what basically amounted to "Creeps" on each side. AI controlled bots who would run around, shoot poorly and try to capture positions. It lent a life to that world that isn't typically present in these kinds of games as well as providing less skilled players with ample targets to take out when other players prove too challenging.

I'm so happy that I finally go to hear Activision/Pandemic's 1998 Battlezone mentioned, well, anywhere. That was a game that captured both me and my childhood best friend to an almost embarrassing degree where we would spend hours drawing comics based on the game featuring us as pilots on the side of the NDSF. As young as we were I'm not entirely sure we grasped the mechanics to a great degree beyond building a big posse of space tanks and leading them straight into the face of whoever opposed us, but when it came to the theme it completely had me hooked. There sense of wonder and mystery I felt when I explored planets and satellites I knew existed in the solar system hasn't been matched since, and the "Soviet Threat" worked great even for someone who born the same year that the Berlin Wall fell. I did try going back a few years back, but found myself struggling with some mouse sensitivity issues that made it impossible to basically turn around at all. Hearing that Rebellion has plans to HD-ify the original has me very interested though. A playable, slightly prettier version of the original could hit the sweet spot just right for me.

Dark Souls 3 {Dark souls 2 successor [Dark Souls successor (Demon's Souls successor)]} (Bloodborne's something)

Interesting. I've been thinking of of how to make a boardgame in the same vein, based quite heavily on Dragonquest. -
Julian Gollop's new X-Com style game Phoenix Point
Apelsin replied to Kolzig's topic in Video Gaming
Giant enemy crabs? Hit the weakpoint for massive damage? Very excited for a new X-Com-alike. Whether I will like this one or not will be very contingent on how the cover system works as that was my main gripe with the remakes.- 10 replies

I've had the same reaction as many of you toward this game. The art style looks really charming and stealthy action puzzles can be real fun but I've just really soured on games where harming civilians is so prevalent. While I never really was into those parts of GTA or similar games, I could at least see where a certain kind of entertaining insanity can rise out of the chaos of those systems but now it just leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth. I wonder whether it is Hatred that was the final straw here.

Something like this?

That is indeed a great scene! I'm entirely sure where a new season would go, but I'd love to at least see something else with the same tone. I'm getting a little tired of the dourness that so many of the video games I've played recently have exhibited, so games like this and Firewatch have actually made me far more excited about playing games than I've been in a long time. And if I ever get my ass into gear and start making games on my own this is definitely the tone I'm going for.
