  1. The Witcher 3: What Geralt Wants

Only a month out, very excited. A little worried about my PC though at i5 2500k and GTX 580.
  2. Games giveaway

I'd be happy to take that Deus Ex GOTY code off of you if it is still available. I have a steam giftable copy of Duke Nukem 3D if anyone wants it. I need to go through my humble bundle stuff, I am sure I still have heaps of it laying about.
  3. So what you want to do: - Roll your 6 stats ( roll 4d6 for each and drop the lowest number), check with the DM and see if you re-roll anything lower than a 9 or 10 - Figure out race and class - determine what you want your stats to be (put your rolled numbers into strength, Constitution, etc) - Determine your modifier for your stats - Add racial and class bonuses to stats and see which saving throw/skills you are proficient in - Your Initiative is your DEX modifier, your speed is a race thing, your passive perception is 10+WIS bonus - You have 1 hit dice at level one (to spend for healing during short rests - Your proficiency at level 1 is +2 - you determine your starting hit points by doing your max hit dice roll + your CON modifier - Your AC is determined by your equipment - You can use the equipment and weapon they give you or roll for your starting gold and choose your own stuff - Choose a background and roll for traits, ideals and flaws, add any bonuses/equipment it gives you - Come up with a back-story you find interesting, and maybe include your traits/flaws/ideals. If you have any questions, feel free to post here, I think we are also friends on Steam.
  4. Project Eternity, Obsidian's Isometric Fantasy RPG

What do they call the Hollowborne down at the docks? Damn PoE, that is kind of a fucked up joke, hah.
  5. Non-video games

New digital tabletop humble bundle - https://www.humblebundle.com/weekly
  6. Non-video games

Have any of you tried bigger worker placement games? Lords of Waterdeep is kind of my first foray into the genre. I wonder how the expansion for Waterdeep is.
  7. I can help out people who need help making a character, if anyone needs it. What's tripping you up Badfinger?
  8. Project Eternity, Obsidian's Isometric Fantasy RPG

Oh man, loved being absolutely destroyed by that bear.
  9. I met Patrick Klepek and Samantha Kalman after the My Brother, My Brother and Me (and meeting those guys) show last night and was so pumped to meet Samantha, she is great. Love her in everything she guests in, I feel bad for not having played Sentris yet.
  10. Life

So my wife is from New Zealand so I play tour guide a lot, places I take people: 1. Sears Tower (glass observation platform is awesome) - try to go in the early evening do you get both day and night views 2. The Field Museum - It's great. 3. A walk in millennium park/grant park/ The Bean. 4. There are walking/running/biking tracks around the shedd aquarium/Addler Planetarium area that give great views of the city if you are looking for some skyline photos (would not recommend going to the planetarium) 5. Shedd Aquarium - Really great ( You can do #2, #4 and #5 in the same day as they are pretty much right next to eachother) There are a million other awesome things to do but require more time/travel, this has been a great program to have a busy weekend with visiting family/friends who are new to Chicago.
  11. Cities: Skylines

All hail dancing alien roundabout. It actually is working pretty splendidly (yes, I know I am terrible with roads)
  12. Project Eternity, Obsidian's Isometric Fantasy RPG

A big patch came out today: https://forums.obsidian.net/blog/7/entry-179-patch-notes-103/ Seems like a lot of the bigger bugs were fixed! They also added a few graphics options which will help performance on lower end machines for.@castorp
  13. Elite: Dangerous (Kickstarter)

Yeah I really hate the log in and patch button stuff.
  14. Non-video games

  15. Cities: Skylines

  16. Project Eternity, Obsidian's Isometric Fantasy RPG

Ah that is a bummer! Did everyone know you could chain commands together with shift?
  17. Project Eternity, Obsidian's Isometric Fantasy RPG

Man, it's nuts how much that first round determines your success in a tough fight, I finally won the hard fight, more details below.
  18. Project Eternity, Obsidian's Isometric Fantasy RPG

I think a lot of the problem stems from physical damage causing stuns so if you are going 2 on 1, unless you are massively doing more damage that is a losing proposition, having a few NPCs gives you enough of a meat shield to let you get hits in. I am currently in a fight that just seems so damn hard, it is like a brick wall atm.
  19. Project Eternity, Obsidian's Isometric Fantasy RPG

Editor went weird, editing my reply to not spoil anything.
  20. Project Eternity, Obsidian's Isometric Fantasy RPG

Totally agree with everything you said, this game feels true to the old infinity engine games, but also expands and iterates in awesome ways. I think the writing and voice acting have all been pretty awesome so far, and I actually like the text based "events" that have you making choices that reflect party skill. I think the sleep system actually feels more like DnD, you should be able to survive a few big scrapes in a single day unless something bad happens. I hated the fight, rest, repeat in the old games.
  21. Project Eternity, Obsidian's Isometric Fantasy RPG

I'm really digging the stronghold gameplay, there is something really satisfying about slowly upgrading something like that. Does anyone know how deep it goes? It mentions sending out adventures on quests and recruiting security details.
  22. Cities: Skylines

You're a god damn road wizard.
  23. Project Eternity, Obsidian's Isometric Fantasy RPG

oof that second level of the temple was hard, I actually skipped it to do easier side quests and will come back, was sick of bashing my head on it.
  24. Project Eternity, Obsidian's Isometric Fantasy RPG
