  1. Feminism

I just don't see a difference between pandering to 16 year olds in general and appealing to one creepy mans desires and (accidentally?) appealing to those same 16 year olds. Both have the same level of intent, the intent just comes from different sources.
  2. Feminism

The sexual content in GoW was very planned out and created by a team as a theme of the game, where as a lot of the sexual content in MGS feels out of place with the theme. It's part of the "tonal dissonance". I don't see a difference between "Lets have sexual content because our game is hardcore and for adults." and "Lets have sexual content because boobies."
  3. Feminism

Looking at it that way I guess there is no difference between intentional and incidental perviness.
  4. I feel like Hitman (Pre-absolution anyway) actually did a good job of giving you a chance to keep things under control when you get spotted. You have to be fast and knock unconscious/kill the person who spotted you, but I have pulled this off many times and still finished missions without having to shoot my way out. There have even been times where the alarm was raised I shot my way through several guards, then during a lull ran away and changed disguises to continue the mission. Dues Ex Human Revolution also had this, but its because the AI wasn't great so even if you shot up the previous room enemies further on won't know anything is wrong.
  5. Feminism

I kind of feel like its worse in MSG than in a game like God of War. Its just so out of place in an otherwise gritty war, stealth game, it feels shoehorned in. In God of War the game was all about violence and sex so the occasional topless monster or woman felt perfectly normal.

Well there is the ability to spy on Quiet in her cell, with her top untied. There is a part of me that wonders why all this teasing, just make her topless, the game is already rated M. video:
  7. The threat of Big Dog

Starfish-killing robot close to trials on Great Barrier Reef "The Cotsbot robot, which has a vision system, is designed to seek out starfish and give them a lethal injection." http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-34129490
  8. The threat of Big Dog

Depending on the amenities of the human zoo, it might be alright. I would be totally ok with a life of leisure funded by robo-tourists.
  9. Intoxicated:

How are you with ginger ale/beer? Moscow Mules and Dark & Stormys are tasty, Whiskey sours are good, Vodka Tonics.
  10. Intoxicated:

I'm actually worried that the next beer trend will be super sour beers. A couple of breweries in my area have been cranking out sours, a few of which are so sour as to be undrinkable.
  11. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

Act II has some very fiddly puzzles.
  12. Intoxicated:

I cannot remember the last time I had an IPA where I thought, "Oh wow that is a new and different flavor/idea." Granted I hate hops so I am a bit bias, but I think the basic idea is that every microbrewery is making IPAs and neglecting all the other kinds of beer that they could innovate with. There are actually several cases of breweries getting into fights over beer names because they keep using the same hop puns. I was looking for this link.
  13. I Had A Random Thought...

Faxes are still used widely in healthcare and legal fields. There are elements of security and verification via signature that are not possible with more advanced technologies.
  14. Hitman: Steve Gaynor Edition

Nice to see the game in action, this one level looks like it has more options than all of Absolution.

    Its pretty classic Tu Quoque.
  17. "Ethics and Journalistic Integrity"

France has had a mix of super alouf liberal intellectuals and crazy racist nationalists for a while now. Its very confusing.
  18. Are there any studies on the minimum required bio-diversity to keep the earth from total ecological collapse? Seems like a super interesting topic.
  19. I wouldn't worry too much about that, on a whole human societies are trending towards less violence, more respect for life and rights and less totalitarian. (Read Better Angels of our Nature)
  20. Other podcasts

It sounded like an interesting podcast, but I couldn't finish it. The hosts voice is really annoying as is her constant introspection about her, IMO boring thoughts, and there is way too much music in the background.

Ugggggggggg: "More women, writers of color have been winning Hugos lately, and that's caused a backlash from a group of mostly white male writers and fans. They call themselves the Sad Puppies.
