Thank you. Here are some from my very limited time in Detroit. I would love to go back and spend a few days just photographing this stuff.

You're going to want to install NMC's texture pack and the hi-res weapon textures from the Nexus and install an ENB preset as well. That goes a long way toward making the game look like how I remembered it looking seven years ago.

Finally playing through New Vegas. I had picked it up on PS3 a couple years back for $10 but never really sank any time into it. Picked up both FO3 & NV during the Steam sale and beautified them via NMC's texture packs.

I almost got stuck in Detroit a couple weeks back trying to get home to Austin. There were tornado warnings and I guess Chicago got hit pretty hard with inclement weather, which caused all manner of diversions, delays and cancellations. Finally made it to Dallas and literally ran to the gate, making my connecting flight by maybe 10 or 15 minutes. My cousin, aunt & uncle ended up stuck in Baltimore for a couple days trying to get back to Austin from Detroit. It was really unfun. I don't blame the airlines for the weather, but boy could they have been a little more forthcoming about what the hell was happening.

This sounds like a good way to get back into the swing of things. I bought a Pentax K-50 a few weeks ago because I was heading to Michigan for my cousin's wedding. It's been a lot of fun to shoot with. Here are some highlights:

I'm a just leave this here.

Apparently I was like two missions from the end for about six months, so when I finally finished the game it was about as anticlimactic as it gets.

Continuing to do business with him just legitimizes his platform for hateful speech, I think. Sure, the whole GG thing continues to wane and appears to mostly be an echo chamber of stupidity, but it seems fairly disingenuous for Mr. Johnson to retweet Peter Moore's pro-fem remarks regarding misogyny directed at the announcement of women players in this year's FIFA game while concurrently sidling up to a creep like Wardell.

So Brad Wardell, Stardock CEO and known asshole, is appearing in this wonderful little film: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gAkWjT6Oops I know there was some discussion about this in the Offworld Trading Co. thread, but has anyone discussed this with Soren Johnson? It seems like there's a pretty big disconnect between Mr. Johnson and Mr. Wardell's politics. Sure, Offworld Trading Co. is clearly a good fit for Stardock in a traditional sense, but is it okay to do business with someone as destructive to the positive evolution of games and gaming culture?

I'm curious. Have at it.

Pretty sure that one was Dan's; Drew made a joke revolving around Blue Shift, however (something to do with wanting to play the game from Barney's perspective). I was thrown at first because it's so straight-faced and they never waver, even for a moment.- 1367 replies

Please, tell us about magnetic imaging.

I used this wiki for ship pricing. The Asp is always 20% off at Irkutsk Station in the Alioth system, which requires a permit from the controlling faction. I'm not sure if every ship has a discount in a specific system, but the wiki is also helpful for comparing armament, speed & hauling capacity.

Yooka-Laylee: Rare-viving the animal duo platformer that we've all yearned for.

Purple, tan & red are not complimentary. The issue isn't the use of vibrant colors, it's the flat look of the characters and the actual colors themselves. And my monitors are calibrated with the help of a professional colorimeter, so I've no plans to adjust 'em for this game. Either way, I hope it's great. I miss traditional platformers and I really loved the DKC series, so if they can replicate that magic I'll be overjoyed. Cautious optimism is the stance I'm going to take for now. -

I really dislike the character design--it comes off as uninspired to me. It possesses none of the charm of the DKC games, and the color palette looks like like an assortment of unrelated crayons. There's a way to make a game vibrant and lush without resorting to this. -

Gonna be brutally honest and state that I fucking hate the way this looks. The colors are all garish and everything is so flat...why is everything the dull color of a Now and Later wrapper? -
It's good to consult Google when shopping for a new ship--you can get 20% off the cost of an Asp (not an insubstantial amount of credits!) in the Alioth system, for instance. What I want to know is where the good weapons are sold.

Mad Men's ending now. What a ride it's been.

They're Swedish, actually.

Finally wrapped up Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor yesterday evening. Considering how hard the "brand five warchiefs" stuff was, the last handful of missions were quite anticlimactic. Oh well, that's one monkey off my back.
