I have a troll named Billygruff, an undead mage named Larrypotter, and a Draenei warrior named Cosmonaut... so, I think you're pretty funny.
-
I exclusively name the WoW characters that I intend on leveling goofy things, so I was always very hurt when people didn't think the name was as clever as I did. (side note, Blizzard sent me a free week of WoW and it's got its hooks back into me, so if anyone wants to be bnet friends, feel free to add me and we can go kill old raid content together while pet farming.)

My blood elf priest's name is Onegative in WoW and I would occasionally get asked if it was a reference to the band as if that makes more sense than a BLOOD elf being named after a blood type.

Let's all get in voice chat and compliment each other on nice plays and be altogether pleasant to one another.

As a woman, I routinely hide my gender online, either through playing male avatars (my first WoW character was a male undead mage named Larry Potter) or by picking gender neutral names that other assume to be male by default. I would also never ever use voice chat in pick up groups, and continue to not use voice chat unless i'm playing with people I know, and if a stranger comes in I have to trust my friends to tell that person that it's not cool to hassle me, because that stranger is inevitably a dude who wouldn't listen to me telling them it's not cool. So I really don't blame any person who uses the assumptions of the player base to escape those shitty experiences.

That was straight off the dome & I did not need to refer to the wiki page for that deep cut. I'm an asset to any pub trivia team for this reason. If you're ever in need of someone who can name all 7 dwarves from Snow White & tell you the capital of Somalia, I'm your gal. (This is applicable to anyone else in Davis or Sacramento. Pub trivia is my #1 jam.)

Sorry everyone interested in GG, ethics & journalism, this is now the Cap'n Crunch thread, where we exclusively talk about Horatio Magellan & his never ending quest to find a way to relax.
-
Thank you both, I'll be by shortly to pick up my humor Nobel Prize.
-
The only Wikipedia edit I've ever done is to the Cap'n Crunch page. At the bottom there was a bit about this woman who sued over thinking that crunch berries were real fruit. In that section they referred her as a "serial litigant" and every place it said "serial" I replaced it with "cereal" and I think that may have been my crowning humor achievement?

https://www.idlethumbs.net/forums/topic/9059-games-giveaway/ is where you can do things like that. (It's hidden in the multiplayer thread as to help obscure it from scammers) Some people will also ask for certain criteria to be met (like x number of months registered, y number of posts, etc.)

They installed the smoke detector successfully & our bathroom wasn't totally destroyed at the end of the day & wanted to cuddle last night, which he's not usually that into. Poor fella.

Windows 10: "It wouldn't be right to call it Windows 9."

I hope they start counting back down and call it either the Xbox 2 or "Xbox Zero - The Witching Hour" Hire me Microsoft, I have big ideas for your products. -
Windows 10: "It wouldn't be right to call it Windows 9."
jennegatron replied to Urthman's topic in Idle Banter
Most people have speculated they skipped 9 to avoid the version checking bugs that would happen when people (lazily) wrote to check for windows 95/98 as starting with a 9. Also Microsoft obviously doesn't care about continuity in sequences of numbers (Xbox -> Xbox 360 -> Xbox One) -
They don't fit into what you normally think of as a "Telltale Game" but puzzle agent & puzzle agent 2 are secretly the best games ever.

He's not crazy about strangers. He doesn't like children (I think because they're loud) and is fairly indifferent to adults. We mostly have to lock him in the bathroom because I don't trust the maintenance crew to not let him out the door and he is a strictly indoor cat. The complex also specifically asked everyone to either kennel their pets or put them in the bathroom while the maintenance crews are in the apartments. It's just that since my boyfriend has a few hour stretches that he has class he has to shut him in the bathroom just in case the crew comes while he's gone. If they're going to be any hammering or anything loud that freaks him out pretty bad. When he lived with my parents my brother would bring his kids and dog over (a large german shepard.) Jellybean would hiss at the children and hide from the dog. Jellybean update: my boyfriend went home from school for lunch (he has a break between his morning and afternoon classes) & to let him out of the bathroom. He ran Jellybean through the apartment with the laser pointer. We moved his food & water from the kitchen to the bathroom so he has everything he needs in there, and when, after playing, he went into the bathroom to eat & my bf shut him back inside. I guess he's never felt such betrayal and has just been scratched at the door and yelling. Since he weighs over 20 pounds he shakes the door pretty hard and makes a LOT of noise, so I hope the maintenance crew actually makes it to our apartment and gets this done today so he doesn't have to get shut in the bathroom again tomorrow. It's not very fair to him. Our apartment complex does this thing where they put a notice on our door that they're coming by and then don't actually make it that day, so they put up another notice for the next day, and this happens like 3-4 days in a row.
-
Today our apartment complex is installing carbon monoxide detectors and doing inspections, and because I'm at work, and my boyfriend has class, we have to lock our monster in the bathroom so he doesn't get out and he's going to be so angry at us tonight.

I saw it in 2D, and remember that scene and distinctly remember thinking "I'm really glad I'm not seeing this in 3D as that would have just been blurry as hell for me. Also it would have seemed even cheesier than it already is." (Whenever something comes toward the audience in a 3D movie/game it just gets real blurry for me. I think it's my astigmatism.)

My favorite part is the turtleneck under the sweatshirt + the expression on your face.

I got in with the alpha also but after so many level resets I'm back down really low. I need to level it up so I can get that sweet WoW pet though... -
I agree! I really liked it!

Gotta keep that nuclear morale up via cartoon mermaids!

Windows 10: "It wouldn't be right to call it Windows 9."
jennegatron replied to Urthman's topic in Idle Banter
I plan on updating, mostly because I have a windows phone that will also get a free update to 10, and I have really liked the way they've taken the OS. I understand why other people don't like it though. -
As someone who grew up on the banks of the mighty Mississip' that's a pretty monumentally terrible idea and I'm glad your friends stopped you.

I'm sorry tegan : ( it's so hard to navigate familial relationship without that added complexity of coming out + abuse. It's so hard to be unemployed and feel that hopelessness. I am just really sorry you have to deal with this.
