I'm glad the (I assume) crushing anxiety in part has subsided! Now, the question we really want the answer to: Where do you stand on mayonnaise?
-
I watched the dic dub on cartoon network right before Toonami when I was a tiny baby child and loved it more than anything else in the world, so I'm thrilled to have it back in my life, and I'm trying to savor it as it happens. They just started adding Sailor Moon S to Hulu. I'm also watching Crystal as it gets added, and continue to add the manga to my christmas/birthday lists until someone buys it for me.

That was you! I wasn't tryin' to put you on blast, which is why I didn't call you out by name. I think you were the inspiration for a solid move to make the welcome thread more visible!

I've been watching Sailor Moon as it gets uploaded to Hulu every week. (And listening to Sailor Business, which I also adore.) I'm going to be so so sad when it ends, and am somehow unspoiled for a show that's over 20 years old. Sailor Jupiter 4lyfe.

Mayonnaise isn't required for sandwiches because mayonnaise is gross and overrated & I will accept kisses in the form of viewing your kisses on SAM.

Because someone (understandably) went to Idle Banter to introduce themselves, since it is off topic. It inspired the move over here.

eRonin, that made me laugh really hard. A+

SO EXCITED FOR THIS. My bf loves Dota 2 & I'm pretty ambivalent, but I find Aui to be an incredibly endearing figure, which is why I tweeted a while back to recommend him on the show. I don't know how much that actually influences guest picks, but I'm really glad this happened.. I think his youtube replay videos are fun to listen to even without a knowledge/understanding/passion for the game & makes me so happy. Aui_2cozy & his snuggie are the best.

I like that idea, mostly because that's the most disgusting thing I've ever heard of, but also that there doesn't seem to be any alcohol in that? So you would drink it purely for the enjoyment of it, not because it would get you drunk. My college roommate and I would come up with the grossest drinks we could think of. We would decide on a name and then backfill what the drink would be, and decide on the most foul ingredients and hope to convince our friends that these were real things. We were inspired by monstrosities such as The Four Horsemen (a real thing), the whickle (also real), and Messiah Complex (a thing that an acquaintance of mine created to punish his friends. 1 shot glass that's 1/3rd 151, 1/3rd vodka, 1/3 gin) The Cee-lo Green: This is just absinthe with sea salt & sweet & low around the rim of the glass The Andre 3000: A bottle of Andre champagne & 3 shots of 1000 island dressing

While you're absolutely right, I think this was brought up in the regard to hypocrisy though, mainly the one that Obama is a Kenyan Muslim & that Ted Cruz is an American patriot. One was born in the US to a US citizen and one was born in Canada to a US citizen, but guess which one has been hounded for proof that he's eligible to be president.

My drink of choice is the Dirty Shirley Temple, and nothing that tastes that good should be legal. (Just take a Shirley Temple (grenadine & a lemon-lime soda like sprite/7 up/sierra mist) and add vodka, Voila, you gon' get druuuuuuunk.)

dammit tegan. you're too good. that man looks like a basset hound, and everyone knows that's the saddest kind of dog!

Don't worry, they're just razzin' you. Welcome!

I watched series 1 of Broadchurch this weekend on Netflix & the 6 episodes of The Jinx, because I was in the mood for mystery stuff, I really adore David Tennant, and the hype surrounding The Jinx intrigued me. I really liked Broadchurch a lot. It was good British mystery in much the same way that Cormoran Strike novels by JK Rowling feel like a quintessential "British mystery" story. I would recommend Broadchurch. I don't know how to feel about the Jinx & I know that it's kind of blown up on the internet especially given the news. The grisly true crime documentary nature & the matter of factness descriptions of heinously disturbing actions is really unsettling. I think episode 6 does the most interesting work as it turns the camera back on the filmmakers and includes them as a part of the story in a way they weren't before, and they act as a really effective audience stand-in.

SO MANY GREAT KITTY PICTURES. THIS IS THE BEST THREAD. (you're all the best.)

I think this is a fantastic observation. Thankfully my pops is still kickin' it, but is directly responsible for my love of American Football. I think it might hurt too much to watch it after he's gone (a long long time from now, I hope.) He's really the main thing keeping me from forsaking the terrible organization that is the NFL.

Oreo Oration is one of my favorite things on the internet, but that really brings me down to hear that he's talking to TotalBooger. I had to unsusbcribe to his youtube channel because it flooded my subscription list with his libertarian roommate spouting off nonsense all the time, but I will defend Oreo Oration to the ends of the earth.

Every year my NCAA March Madness brackets are systematically dismantled. Usually it takes more than the first half day of games though.

http://www.gamersgate.com/games?prio=relevance&q=Telltale The unfortunately named Gamersgate (predates the unfortunate Goobers of last summer/fall) has the Telltale library on sale if you haven't played the Puzzle Agents which are maybe my favorite pair of games ever? (lookin' at you Sean. They're amazing.) Highly recommended.

http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/sports/college/story/2012-05-14/ncaa-college-athletics-finances-database/54955804/1 This is super interesting. I figured I would go looking for breakdowns of budgets for athletic departments at various schools thinking I wouldn't be able to find anything.

Math, specifically linear algebra (and by extension numerical analysis) is basically my favorite thing ever.

I have a hard time capturing how handsome a boy he is. Also lack of scale means it's hard to show that he is about 2 feet long from nose to the base of his tail.

I'm very sorry about your loss Atlantic : ( I'm terrified that something bad would happen to my kitty if he got outside. He's always been strictly indoors, mostly because my mother didn't want him terrorizing our neighborhood birds, squirrels, & chipmunks. He isn't declawed, and is bigger than most anything that would try and cross him, but it makes me too nervous to let him out.
