  1. Persona 4: Dancing All Night

Is the Tanaka Theme in? That's all I care about.
  2. Idle Thumbs Readers Slack & Discord

You can also access Slack rooms from IRC if you're that hardcore. I'm in favour!
  3. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

Yesterday I ended up with 4 sleeping guys inside one of those guard towers by doing exactly this. It was funny. Very few things are more satisfying than pulling a prisoner extraction perfectly. I had a couple of instances where I just got in (without even knocking anyone out), got the prisoner, got out. No collateral damage, no disruption of the normal workings of the base, nothing. Just a prisoner that mysteriously disappeared.
  4. Where in the World - Idle Thumbs Map

Now that you mention, 2 of those look weird: one list their location as Crewe and ended up in Britânia, Goiás (some strange thing happening with Great Britain changing to Britânia, I guess?) and another one is in an indigenous reserve in Mato Grosso. Anyway, hooray for more Brazilians! (I'm exiled in the UK and considering not coming back)
  5. Half-Life 3

hahahah, I was at the panel where the question was asked. I love that there is absolutely no answer the guy from Valve could have given that couldn't be interpreted as "HL3 is happening" except if he just went out and said "HL3 is not happening".
  6. I Had A Random Thought...

wait, what do you mean "some" states? Are there states where you can only get a driver's license with US Citizenship? How do foreigners live in these places? (the answer: as badly as I did in NC, having to take the bus that ran once an hour every day)
  7. I Had a Random Thought (About Video Games)

I've got half an hour to test Playstation VR this Thursday and I'm really excited!
  8. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

Yes and yes. (and I think there's a specific Side Op you need to have completed as well, though I'm not 100% sure.)
  9. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

D-Dog is the best thing to happen in my life. Also, I just stumbled into the Medical Platform room. HOLY CRAP.

I meant that it won't be difficult to convince them on a 3-month arrangement that is very likely to be extended if the room is empty anyway. Spareroom is good, as far as I'm aware. I've never actually moved to any of the places I've checked from there, but the people seemed to be serious and the ads were true to reality and with pricing that seemed fair. It might be worth keeping an eye at the accommodation forums at the Warwick SU website, people tend to advertise vacancies there as well: http://www.warwicksu.com/forums/topiclist/630/

It's the start of the term at the University of Warwick, so you might be able to just walk Leamington (or go to the University) and find many students offering rooms. I don't think you'll have a hard time convincing them if the rooms are empty by term time. (just in case I'll ask around and see if anyone know about anything. Also, welcome to the area!)
  12. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

Today I got my first S-rank! On episode 5! After needing to restart 3 or 4 times, but anyway! I really like that, even when you fail, it feels like you have made some advance, be it on marking enemies or just knowing the layout of the terrain and the patrol routes better. After my 3 or 4 failures on episode 5 (spoiler in case you don't want to know any details and hasn't played episode 5 yet),
  13. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

I don't know why I didn't think of putting El Sonidito as the song my chopper plays. Nothing can demoralize the enemy more than that.
  14. Screenshots. Shots of your screen.

I have been playing a lot of Pro Cycling Manager 2015. It's a clunky mess that I really enjoy.
  15. UK Thumbs

Hey UK Thumbs! Is anyone going to EGX this year?
  16. I was worried by what would happen in a live Mario Party Party. It turns out that it was great! Brad was awake the whole time and the last 5 turns are the universe telling us that yes, Mario Party is a great game.

That was another thing I noticed: I grew up in Brazil, where public healthcare is very poor and getting private health insurance is very close to the top in anyone's priorities. Because we were paying for health insurance anyway, my family always had the habit of going to the doctor once a year for a routine check-up and some basic blood tests, and that's pretty common there. Here, even with symptoms I had to twist my GP's arm a bit to get her to sign for a blood test.
  18. "Ethics and Journalistic Integrity"

My very limited experience when living in America for 6 months is that racism is much more "tangible" there. I would take the bus and be the only white person on it. I'd go to a fast food joint and 100% of the people working there would be black. The university campus would be almost completely white. The fact that economic inequality is much bigger in the US than it is in Europe, in general, might lead to a kind of de facto segregation that is different from the racism that exists in Europe.

I had to use the NHS for a semi-serious thingie for the first time and it left me quite disappointed. Almost two hours sitting in a waiting room to get a simple blood test done. Is that usual? I've found it quite bad, especially because I was without food for 10 hours for a fasting blood glucose test and those two extra hours were pretty unpleasant.
  20. Fallout 4 — Boston Makes Me Feel Good

Just stopped by to say that I finally understood this thread's title.
  21. I was on board with MGS4 until the end of the corridor scene. Also, there's something I was actually discussing with a friend over lunch:
  22. Intoxicated:

yeeeep I think I was a bit too noisy on the bus back home. People were looking. But the music on my headphones was SO GOOD
  23. Skype itself can do that, I think? Otherwise, quite sure Teamviewer has that implemented.
