I was interested to see Nick play Bloodborne because this is the only souls game i have ever played, and it broke me.
I tried two playthroughs and got stuck on Amelia both times (the 3rd or 4th boss), and both times i eventually gave up and uninstalled the game. The thing that broke me, like it seemed to be doing Nick, was the farming for blood vials. I knew i could only die to Amelia a few times in a row before i would have to go waste time grinding through enemies again, and the knowledge of that mentally exhausted me, because i hate it. Especially in a game where grinding is such a damn struggle.
I understand that the Dark Souls games have a system where your healing items automatically refill, and i really wish they had used that here, because it's an incredibly cool game but i don't believe i will go back to it.
To be fair i'm pretty bad at games (incredibly bad considering how many games i've played), so i'm sure Nick will be able to beat this now that he's used to it. Also i did get Amelia down to about 15% health at some point, so i would probably have beaten her eventually if i kept grinding.
I never learned how to parry either, because you never know which attacks can be parried for different enemies, the only ones i could parry were the big brick guys and a very easily-parried boss. Should i not have used the blunderbuss?
Edit: Oh i hope i don't get deleted for spoilers because i said Amelia. She broke my heart.
