Okay i integrated Kotaku into my daily surfing schedule about 6 to 8 weeks ago, and have generally used it as a "all the sites i check daily have no new content oh look kotaku has 20 updates" so i've been reading their posts, and occasionally forwarding the odd interesing link to friend/colleagues (as i do for thumbs, joystiq, shack news or wherever) and just generally LURKING, which is what i usually do with all the sites i frequent, i am not a prolific poster just look at my post count on thumbs it's weak even though i've been registered since launch..... So *anyway*, all of a sudden today i read an article that inspired me enough to bother to click on the comments thread in kotaku (like i always do when i'm bored enough to lurk through comments posted by the unwashed internet minions) and actually CONTRIBUTE towards the discussion. So in doing this i am fully expecting to have the freedom to type my uninteresting random comment but lo and behold instead i get greeted by their 'those who art worthy to post upon these hallowed grounds' FAQ!!! and here is the url: http://www.kotaku.com/gaming/announcements/kotaku-comments-faq-130964.php am i missing something? i've been reading the comments threads on kotaku posts for several months and assuming the content was written by your random internet trolls, no different from anywhere else and all of a sudden according to that page i've actually been reading 'words of wisdom FROM "ur favorite gearheads, bloggers, and frequent tipsters to comment". i'm having trouble understanding this, bear in mind that thumbs forum has no such restrictions yet the general banter is of a decent intellectual and literary standard... so who teh fock moderates their 'i'll invite you to have the privilege to comment upon our hallowed news posts'???" I hope i just haven't missed something blatantly obvious, if so please correct me.. but otherwise, what's the story here?
-
yes what i was thinking, why have an invite system when the comments are full of the same crap you get on other sites that have open comments checked out 4 color rebellion, hadn't heard of that one before looks decent

eek that sounds more like Space Ace / Dragon's Lair than Tomb Raider >_< I didn't play it that far. Went away for the weekend so got to play lots of NSMB on the train, love it. WoW sucks up the rest of my gaming time lately (apart from the odd guitar hero sesh whilst waiting for people to turn up for molten core). I got the fifth item in my epic Tier 1 Prophecy set last night, w00t me!

yes it can, just stick an Animal Crossing sticker on something (anything) and it automatically becomes cute!

it seems the GameLifeShow eye is ever watchful! They've actually linked to the CVGaiden post about the '1up Show Cunts' lol: This from their main page: - Consolvania Opinion Piece on The 1UP Show interview above. omg check out the screwattack.com interview too, amazing!
-
i agree with ginger
-
They also got briefly mentioned in the 1UP Yours podcast 12th May (about 20mins in), one of the guys came out with an interesting/disturbing comment: "The real celebrities were at E3 today, it was the gaminglife dudes..." "Patrick interviewed them and apparently their dad is like an evil Svengali who runs the show, like they're just a front, that's what I heard...."

In light of the revelation that they possibly are actually MENCAP and have likely read this thread.. I feel a bit wrong for my earlier post >_<

bollocks: http://www.kotaku.com/gaming/wii/e306-wii-wifi-to-use-those-stupid-ing-friend-codes-173327.php I don't mind the long codes so much, I just hate the nause of having to rebuild your friend list from scratch for each new Wifi capable game. Also no way to know if any of your friends are even online... on DS we have to use MSN and IRC to 'arrange' our multiplayer sessions, it's a real shame if it has to be like that on Wii too.

most exciting thing so far is Singstar...

from eurogamer's update: 23:13:02 - Complete gridlock outside. No announcements about why - just lots of people looking at each other and moaning. 23:08:56 - Even Hideo Kojima is stuck in the queue. He looks bored.

cheers for the heads up on audio stream seems it hasn't started yet

spaff i honestly don't know how you've managed to watch them! I've not managed to survive more than a minute into any of the episodes.. that feeeling you mention about looking at a car crash? i'm getting that.. except i also immediately feel like i'm about to spew. In this episode that third guy coming on warbling something about jack bower nearly triggered my bowels... i switched off when the bigger fatter guy said something that sounded like this: "you guys at home aaaw in fwaaaawwww a special tweat" ... argh! okay i just tried watching a bit more and he actually starts explaining the gameplay mechanics of tetris ffs...i can't handle it!

I don't think it will be the name of the console (well i hope not), it's more likely to be a trademark for something else. Look at the logo, it's a bunch of dpads in a cube and doesn't appear to bear much of a visible relation to the console whereas the gamecube logo gad well.. a cube thing in it and the DS logo represents the two screens. If it's not a fake then maybe it's a trademark related to the WiFi network, or some technology that allows you to take your downloaded games with you on your DS or.. a brochure for a Nintendo employee pension scheme or something!

Don't forget Gunstar Future/Super Heroes is coming out for GBA soon. If anyone was looking for an excuse to get a micro you can't get much of a better reason than that!
