  1. Send us questions!

There's not too much between the first LBA and the sequel in terms of the main gameplay, but the scope of the sequel was much grander. It was a free-roaming game in the best sort of way, and at the time that was the most thrilling game world I'd ever had the chance to explore.

Oh right it's something like Twinsen's Odyssey in the USA. 3D action-adventure that was 80% action, 10% point and click, 10% RPG. French! Or Gallic if you believe what it says on the box.

I have a lame question, which is irrelevant but you only have one podcast left: Did any of you guys play LBA2? If you did you surely think it's one of the greatest games of all time and has been sorely forgotten. Beyond Good and Evil was pretty much a copy of that game, with a similar world and very similar plot. Someone needs to resurrect interest in it! Was it way ahead of its time, or am I a ridiculous fool? *sigh*
  4. Yeah I've returned from God-knows-where to join in the praise for the Mandelbrot Set reference.

Well, regardless of the first, I'd say the last great generation of gaming was the SNES / Megadrive era. Back then there was no internet, so multiplayers actually required multiple players and not just a decent connection to the old three dubya's. Games were wild and expensive, and we were all only twelve, so you could only ever own three at any one time. It was a fantastic time to be alive, because it was impossible to fall back on gaming as your sole form of entertainment. If it was a really nice day, you would play football. I pity the children. Like wise Thrik once said to me, the people whose first gaming experience is Half Life 2 are in a tough situation - games are pointed towards realism as opposed to memorability. I mean, I remember weird, weird things from random games just because they were innovative. I don't remember ever liking a game because it looked "realistic."

The first game I ever played was Luigi's Mansion. I love that game.
  7. Willy Wanka & The Chocolate Factory

Hey, I'm a nice guy. I don't like to say nasty things about other people, and I rarely do. With this in mind, all I'll say is this; Blasphemy, Yufster, is a crime on a par with high treason. I love that bit on the boat in the original movie though, and the bit where that rich girl is all "Daddy I want a golden egg!" and her dad strolls over with his wallet and goes "alright Wonka, how much for an egg?" Genius
