I finished it. Besides having too much combat, sound being messed up on my PC (actually towards the end it surprisingly got better), and all this wannabe dark theme, it's still a pretty good game. And the story is actually kind of good, with some twists I wasn't expecting. And Godsmack only played in the menu and credits and you never had to listen to the voice if you were quick enough in the menu... Also, what's up with everyone focusing on the "you bitch" line? In an average movie, we hear lots of worse language than that. Oh, he also said "die, you bastard" once. I think those lines were entirely appropriate. Or maybe you didn't notice that the Prince was never a very nice guy in the first place (I mean in Sands of Time). Even if the whole failiure of the "darker, more mature" theme hadn't been present, those lines would still have been appropriate. And actually a darker theme does kind of fit the story, except that it's badly done in this one. The hidden artwork chests are fucking pointless.

On a related note, WTF is powdered rouge? "It is good to carry some powdered rouge in one's sleeve. It may happen that when one is sobering up or waking from sleep, his complexion may be poor. At such a time it is good to take out and apply some powdered rouge." And secondly, what has powdered rouge got to do with changing into a suit and/or changing car lisence plates?

I just tried the Eden Eclipse mod for UT2004 and it surprises me how they've taken everything good out of UT2004 and made it similar to the FPS part of Omikron: The Nomad Soul (which is the worst FPS I've played so far). The first enemies you meet are some kind of spiders, which are done worse than spiders in any other game, but not too bad. Then you meet some kind of weird humanoid animals or aliens who SHOOT A BEAM AT YOU AND CAN'T MISS. That's right, every beam they shoot at you will hit you, no matter what you do. And their AI seems to be scripted like this: If See(Player) Then RunAt(Player) Else StandStill() TryToGetStuck(Sometimes) The level design is not too horrible, but I have to turn the details and resolution down till it looks slightly worse than Half-Life 1, otherwise it will play at about 2 frames per second.

Man he just told you. You can save when you drink the water from the fountains. BTW. Also loading the main menu takes almost a minute on my computer! So i find the best way to quit the game is to ctrl-alt-del

I got to play it some more and everything Tycho said about it is correct. And... WHERE THE FUCK IS SOUND? Most of the sound effects are played so quietly that I can barely hear anything. And occasionally (actually quite often) you get totally off the mark utterances from the enemies. They've totally screwed up anything that had to do with sound. Except that the non-heavy music they have is quite good.

Yay! I haven't played Gish for a long time... Time to install it again. I hope someone makes awesome new levels with the editor.

I downloaded the first part but I so lazy that I haven't bothered to delete it yet.

Why don't they just give it up if they have to remove it in a patch anyway: As far as I know, also every UT game removes CD protection in a patch. Probably some other games as well... Not to mention the one used in TAC games lots of people have problems with...

My 9600Pro (128 MB) plays half-life 2 just fine, but Doom3 was kind of slow.

If you have better relations with the nation whose town you're in, their tavern gives you more men. 40 was pretty regular for me on my last voyage. I started to just stick with one or two ships at some point (since only one can do battle at a time anyway and trading is not that interesting) so I don't need that much crew.

Never played the original. Right now I've just been selling everything -- food, cannons, other ships -- before dividing the loot. Haven't bothered with lessening their numbers otherwise.

Is the game meant to be played so that you sail a few months and then divide the plunder and then sail again? At first I thought dividing the plunder would be something you do when you "end" the game, but my crew is getting unhappy quite soon...

Dancing is hard, and it gets almost exponentially harder with difficulty levels... The other things don't seem to get more difficult at all.
