My enthusiasm for the game is kind of starting to wear off (I've probably played too much, should take it slower). I'm moving around so much that it no longer feels like adventuring -- I'm now mostly just solving uninteresting quests and trying to get from A to B in the most efficient way. And the quests that involve dungeons are really boring. Well, most of the combat is boring and even more so because now my character can beat anyone I need to fight easily. Thankfully, there isn't too much combat required. But the Cliff Racers are getting highly annoying (they actually do respawn even if you leave their bodies be). And all the places are starting to feel very flat and desolate and there's not much variation in colors. Gothic's (both) worlds seemed to have this more mountainous and colorful look (and more realistic I think). I don't know if it's simply because Gothic was more hand-designed or that Morrowind's mountain ranges are running parallel too much and are nearly always of the same height (well, except the red mountain, which I've been near once so far). I still like it a lot, though. But I think there is actually too much to do, too many places to visit. I hope Oblivion will be a bit more focused, but still very open-ended.

What? Well, if this is true, Kerry is an idiot. PS. Kill Bush.

This is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I totally recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it yet "Nautilus?" "Nautiloy!" And why did Sean Connery ever accept the role? I lost all respect for him.

Heh, the minigame is actually kind of fun. In the way that Misse&Murre is fun. Maybe I'm not so much offended, as sad that they are really not helping the bad rep games get for being too violent. And in this game it actually is completely pointless and gratuituous or what's that word. If the drivers would get up after a crash or something, like all the bad guys in A-Team (hello, ), it would be more tolerable, but no, they look very dead and the slo-mo thing that goes with that flight etc., it's just bad taste. But the other parts of the game seem ok. I'm lately not a big racing game fan though.

Yep, physics are great for a racing game. And the ragdoll is completely unnecessary and it is offensive to me. I'm not offended by Hitman in any way, or even Porrasturvat (Stair Dismount?) but I am by this game for some reason. And did they really need that "Ragdoll Olympics" game mode where you throw the driver as high as possible...

Europe should start exporting democracy to the USA.

Well, Russia has it worse. There was even no question Putin was going to be reelected. And now he is arranging for even more power for himself. But of course, Russia isn't as powerful as USA.

Bethesda has released a bit more info about it. GameSpot has some screens. But if that's still all they're going for, I'm not really that interested. I played Daggerfall for a while and Morrowind for a few hours, but was disappointed by both of them. I plan to give Morrowind one more try, but I think that the dry dialogues and characters just destroy the game's potential completely. Now this sounds more promising. But the full speech still won't convince me if the NPC's will still lack personality. I'd love to see Gothic 3 look as good as this though.

I can't decide wether to install the "Zed the Merchant" plugin... On one hand I will be able to sell all my expensive stuff, including a Her Hands armor set. On the other hand if I do this I will never have to worry about money again and the sums received from completing quests will be even more ridiculous than they are now. At the moment I have about 130,000. I spent about 100,000 on training already till I got tired of the 'aaaah' sound... Now if I could sell all my Ebony and Her Hands stuff, I'd probably have more money than I'd ever need in the future? Damn those RPG traditions. Simply leaving expensive stuff be seems so unnatural

http://morrowind.rpgdot.com//index.php?hsaction=12 Wow. The FAQ at morrowind.ttlg.com says there will be ridable horses!

Right now it looks like Bush is going to win. But Kerry has some small hope yet, I think?

Thanx, i hadn't noticed those. I actually meant something like the Behind the Games features at GameSpot, not individual designer diaries. But I guess as there don't seem to be any, designer diaries it is

Has anyone done a behind the scenes look at Morrowind? I searched in a couple of sites but didn't find anything.

You know what elements "next-gen" big RPGs like Oblivion should have? Playing Morrowind made me think about this again... They shouldn't only do this "living world system" where people move around more inside the towns and actually carry out some activities. That has been done, somewhat. But since GTA has started taking RPG elements, games like Oblivion should start taking stuff from the GTA series and other places. There should be caravans and carts moving on the roads, people moving around in the world, other adventurers competing with you. And there should be a more realistic economic model. If you need to carry loads of heavy stuff out of some Dwarwen mines you shouldn't make 5 trips there, carrying as much as you can on your back each time. You should be able to organise a full caravan. Some horse carts would ride out, with guards riding along on horses. A camp would be setup near the mine entrance. Some folk would enter the mines and start bringing stuff out, others will be guarding the camp. Stuff like that. This is what would bring RPGs to a "next generation", not more advanced graphics, physics or slightly more complicated NPC behaviour that has already been done in some past games (Outcast, Gothic). Anyway, I'm aware that it's possible they have quite a lot more planned than they have said so far, maybe what they will do will be amazing as well.

I'm not sure if it's on par really. It's a long time since I've played either of those games and Obitus is the only one I finished. I guess it was easier or shorter or something. It also mixed some side-scrolling action bits with the Lands of Lore style thing. I think it was kind of unique. But might be uninteresting nowadays. Mobygames have some screens: http://www.mobygames.com/game/shots/p,2/gameId,3600/

Didn't know "The League that shall not be named" was based on a comic (I don't really read comics, except the occasional PA and some newspaper strips). Makes sense though, now that I think of it. But what I really hated about it was how they told the story by simply presenting some kind of ridiculous facts in lines that were out of context. The prime example is this (OH NO MAJOR SPOILER DON'T READ BELOW). Quatermaine catches M and says something like "M! Or should I say professor *** Moriarty?" WTF? There was no hint to this, no clue, nothing. Just out of the blue, Quatermaine figured out that guy was Moriarty. --- I kind of liked Lost in Translation, or bits of it.

It doesn't deserve to be spelled correctly. Same here. Although I've missed some of the good ones too. Usually the film festivals here are at a bad time for me, when school is the busiest.

I'm not so sure about that.

So you still think he has Osama in custody already? If that's really so, I'll buy you a beer (umm... a virtual beer). Or do you think he'll win because he couldn't catch Osama in 3 years and people want to see how that match ends?

Heh. I looked at the site again and found the scrollbar in the downloads page. It was not very noticeable so previously I thought the Ragdoll Trailer was the ONLY trailer. But it doesn't change much. Now I also looked at the Extras page and there were two minigames about crashing test dummies.

I think I discovered that the monsters in areas like the Mournhold Sewers respawn ONLY when you dispose of their bodies? Is that true? Because every time I went back for the loot to the Dark Brotherhood hideout when the bodies were still there, I didn't find any new brothers there, but when I took all the loot and got rid of the bodies, they were there again, demanding my blood.

Heh... you can actually buy lots of potions. After you buy what the seller has they reappear in his/her inventory. I managed to kill a Dark Brotherhood leader now, but lost my companion in the battle (the one who offered to join me at the Royal Plaza). He was getting annoying anyway, always lagging behind. One thing that is annoying about the sewers in Mournhold is that the monsters respawn way too fast. It seems they do that every time you exit and re-enter an area. We entered one of the Dark Brotherhood "manors" and when came back out again, about 10 of the brotherhood members were waiting for us. BTW. Is the Brotherhood leader in Mournhold supposed to drop a bow? He fought me with one, even as I was hacking at him with an axe, but his dead body only had a magical short sword and some arrows. Half of him fell *into* the wall/ground, so maybe a bow fell below the ground as well? I hope it's not a really good bow, if it did

Thanx for the tip. I had actually already joined Hlaalu and now I found a 'land deed' for sale in their treasury in Vivec, which was probably for that house in Odai, I think. It cost 5000. That was all I had at the moment so I decided to wait till they just give it to me for doing quests. Now I'm back in Mournhold, but still too weak for some of the quests... And nobody is selling healing potions in quantity, and I don't have any herbs and I haven't learned magic blablabla. Mournhold is great for earning money, though.

Isn't there any real estate you can buy/own in Morrowin? I'd like to keep some of my things "safe" but not carry them all the time. One time I thought I could have the shack in Hla Oad (where I killed the Cammona Tong guys or whoever they were), but I went back there and some new people were already there... Umm... wait, no. I think the slaughter in the shack was in Gnaar Mok. But that place is too distant at the moment to go there often.
