  1. I don't get it. I hear you're supposed to be able win, but after clicking for minutes, I'm still unable to move the meter forward enough. Maybe this explains why I'm not that good in FPS/RTS games
  2. Wanda and the Colussus

Well, this: "People, you need to understand. This will not be a game to compare to other games (as ICO was) in a conventional fashion." It doesn't say it will be better (how would you measure that anyway), but you are already saying what a great experience it will be while you've only seen a trailer and a few screenshots. I'm not saying that you're wrong (watching the trailer again in full screen sent shivers down my spine), but I wouldn't speak of it with such certainty i.e. "People, you need to understand... it will not be this and that".
  3. Wanda and the Colussus

No, of course not. It's just how you started your post. Read your first paragraph again and tell me you didn't sound a bit fanboyish
  4. Wanda and the Colussus

I actually disagree, Intrepid. I don't think Wanda will push any game-defining boundaries. It will just be one hell of a game (most likely). ICO's elements separately are not that dissimilar from other games. It's just the whole of it that is extraordinary and artistic and can even be appreciated by non-gamers*. But it didn't really go beyond what I as a gamer think a game is. Why else did a lot of people say that it was how Prince of Persia should have been in 3D. And likely Wanda and the Colossus will be the same -- awesome and even a piece of art, but not beyond what we think when we say the word 'game'. * well, at least my mother watched me play it (for about 2 hours, I think), she's never done that before. But then again, it was practically the only game I played in front of the TV.
  5. Wanda and the Colussus

The trailers on the japanese site didn't work for me, but gamespot has them too.
  6. Wanda and the Colussus

Yeah, the graphics are not why I'm excited about this game, but the gameplay concept.
  7. Knights of Honor

The German demo of Knights of Honor is now available. The English demo is coming soon. I don't speak German, but I'm going to try it anyway Oops. Forgot the link. Here. Or Here.
  8. Wanda and the Colussus

It's gonna kick ass! Is it going to be released in Japan first?
  9. The Future of adventure games?

My mobile phone is 2 or 3 years old now and I plan to not change it for as long as I can, so at the moment I'm not really interested.
  10. Fable: The Official Hero Progress Report Thread

Man, I can't wait to play the Witted Bastard. Can you tame a Balverine? Unfortunately, I decided not to buy an Xbox at the moment so I hope they'll do a PC port. Or maybe I can convince my friend to borrow me his Xbox (though he bought it from the US, and my TV only supports PAL so I wouldn't get any colors).
  11. Scrapland

Actually, that was in the demo. The "Bankers" went around, stealing money from people. When you get caught there's going to be a fight and police after you. I changed into a Banker and stole shitloads of cash from another banker who had just done the same to someone else And I think at the same time a third banker was stealing money from me. I didn't try the police officers/extortion.
  12. Right now I'd say Evil Genius because I haven't played the Warhammer demo yet, and don't know anything about the previous games. But it is among the leftovers of my demo downloading frenzy last week, so I'll play it tomorrow.
  13. I'm kind of disappointed that they are focusing so much on the combat with the next Prince of Persia game. It doesn't seem like they'll be making it more closer to the original Prince -- there will still be hordes of enemies from what I have seen. But what they are doing with the combat does sound interesting -- read about it in this Q&A on GameSpot, for example. Only one thing bothers me about it: they are saying that every player will develop a custom fighting style, but at the end of the interview, there is this: It sounds like instead of giving great freedom of developing your own combat style, they may end up forcing you to fight in certain styles at certain times, with maybe some freedom. I hope not, though. If they pull it off right, it might turn out to be one of the coolest action-combat systems ever.
  14. Valve vs. Vivendi

There's a lengthy news post at GameSpot about a court case involving Valve and Vivendi, breaches of contract, Vivendi publishing Valve's games in cyber cafes, Valve wanting to distribute games through Steam etc. http://www.gamespot.com/news/2004/09/20/news_6107712.html I don't understood all of it very well, not having read anything else about the subject, but it would be nice if a developer could kick some big publisher's ass. Although I'm not a big fan of Valve.
  15. Valve vs. Vivendi

Same here. I don't mind getting a better Half-Life 2 and I wasn't really going crazy with anticipation, but there must have been some dishonesty in there. I'm not going to speculate though, with the little info I got. Also it seems Valve hasn't been honest with Vivendi either, from that news. But that is for the courts to decide.
  16. Valve vs. Vivendi

Yeah. Sorry I reacted like that.
  17. You were disguised as the cow? Are you stalking Yufster?
  18. BioWare licenses UnrealEngine 3

No, NWN 2 is being made by the former Black Isle guys (Obsidian or something?). And I don't think Bioware is making Baldur's Gate 3 either. BTW. Every time I read the name Feargus Urquhart it makes me think that a person with such a name couldn't be anything else than an RPG developer. Somehow it seems so fitting.
  19. Valve vs. Vivendi

I admit I don't know much about those games, as I'm not really an FPS fan, and I generally don't play multiplayer games. I like Half-Life though
  20. Valve vs. Vivendi

?Actually, I was just about to edit after my first post and say that i really respect them for doing that. And should every gamer really be a fan of Valve? Fuck. I'm tired of this miscommunication -- my understanding of English is not that good -- I don't have anyone to speak English with, my only practice is writing in forums / reading books and texts in the internet, watching TV and movies (and then I usually prefer to read the subtitles) and playing games. Maybe "i'm not a big fan" means the same as "they suck", although it's probably a difference in tone. Unfortunately, I can't communicate the tone very well... [edit again]And yeah, I know you were at least half-kidding... blablabla
  21. Valve vs. Vivendi

I don't have a problem with them. But the continuous delays of half-life 2 don't show them in the best light. No way am I going to believe that the source code theft added a whole year to the developement time. As I recall, it was just a month or so from the release date when the code was stolen.
  22. Clusterfuck!

I have all my games and demos installed into C:\Games, also there are backups of savegames from games I have uninstalled. I noticed that somehow I had installed the Rise of Nations demo just into C:\Games, not a subfolder. Then I decided it would be easier to uninstall it than to try to sort this out manually. I also ticked the "delete saved games and profiles" box. Well guess what, the uninstaller COMPLETELY DELETED EVERYTHING IN C:\GAMES, except sound files from Desperados and the data folder of STALKER alpha. Most bad and awful was the loss of Doom III save games because I'm sure as hell not going to replay that (I was in Delta Complex, just after getting back from hell). The other save games were not really that big a loss as I probably would have started any game I'd replay from the beginning. [edit]hehe... the smilies are appropriate. I actually meant C: \Games of course.
  23. BioWare licenses UnrealEngine 3

Bioware may actually have 4 titles in developement. Strange, I consider myself somewhat of a BioWare fan, but I've actually only played the Baldur's Gate games (plus demos of MDK and NWN, and a bit from the beginning of KOTOR). Anyway, Baldur's Gate 2 was to me perhaps the most magnificient RPG ever. Even moreso than Gothic or Gothic 2, now that I think back.
