  2. The Humane Game

  5. Are Adventure Games Dead?

I wish I could rotate my head like an owl. Lazy as I am, I wouldn't have to turn around to talk to someone behind me. --Erwin
  6. A riddle-y type thing.

I'm confused. What the hell is going on in here? --Erwin
  7. The Humane Game

I would get my toolbox, which is always in the trunk for emergency repairs, (my car can be a bitch sometimes, heh) and whack the dog with a monkey wrench. --Erwin
  8. Are Adventure Games Dead?

Is that in it's erected state? I ask because, there are flesh penises and blood penises. So that'd better be a blood penis, or I have to feel sorry for him. --Erwin
  9. Viva la Revolution!

His cigars stink. Sorry, I was in a rebelling mood. --Erwin
  10. Are Adventure Games Dead?

When do you publish the review with complementary pictures? --Erwin
  11. Is John Romero REALLY dating an 18 year old?

It all depends on what A/C system you install, of course. You don't wanna look at the energy bill, though An advantage of a hot office: Women wear less clothes. However, that would again make some employees sweat even more. --Erwin
  12. Unlocking Half-Life 2

Wait a minute: So your brother-in-law installs this new garbage, and YOU have to call for support? Is he even aware of the crappiness that he installed, or isn't he around when your connection breaks down again? --Erwin
  13. Is John Romero REALLY dating an 18 year old?

  14. Half-Life 2 "sting" Confirmed

I wish they'd do the same with the fucking cheaters in Counter-Strike Source. Damn it. --Erwin

  17. Jazz Jackrabbit

One of the (very few) good titles that came from the Netherlands. --Erwin
  18. Unlocking Half-Life 2

It took me five minutes. It's all about timing, I guess. --Erwin
  19. The horror of working for EA

I knew working in the games industry can be tough; long working hours, crunch mode and such. But Electronic Arts seems to take it a bit too far according to this blog: A brief excerpt: The current mandatory hours are 9am to 10pm -- seven days a week -- with the occasional Saturday evening off for good behavior (at 6:30pm). This averages out to an eighty-five hour work week. Complaints that these once more extended hours combined with the team's existing fatigue would result in a greater number of mistakes made and an even greater amount of wasted energy were ignored. The stress is taking its toll. After a certain number of hours spent working the eyes start to lose focus; after a certain number of weeks with only one day off fatigue starts to accrue and accumulate exponentially. There is a reason why there are two days in a weekend -- bad things happen to one's physical, emotional, and mental health if these days are cut short. The team is rapidly beginning to introduce as many flaws as they are removing. And the kicker: for the honor of this treatment EA salaried employees receive a) no overtime; no compensation time! ('comp' time is the equalization of time off for overtime -- any hours spent during a crunch accrue into days off after the product has shipped); c) no additional sick or vacation leave. 20. So true... Though I heard LEGO has had a shift in management, or a new president or something, and they now want to get back to the old standard. --Erwin

  22. grafitti: art or vandalism?

    Vandalism. Art. --Erwin
  23. I thought we were talking about cartoons? I still have a lot of LEGO, though. I particularly liked the city theme, I think it was called Lego Land tm or something. I built entire cities, on this huge table my dad made in the attic. I always wanted to have one of those electric LEGO trains too. Early 1980 train, which I always wanted as a kid. Didn't care much for the space, technic and castle themes. --Erwin
  24. Did we REALLY land on the moon?

I know I should've used the smiley in that post, goddamnit. Oh well, I never was one of those people that want to be friends with everyone. --Erwin
  25. Did we REALLY land on the moon?

No, it is a rather interesting TV show. It portraits the present-day South through the eyes of two lifelong friends (one black, one white) with flashbacks to their childhood in the early 1960s, when their friendship was more difficult. I don't think many people know it, because it was aired on Lifetime. --Erwin
