  1. Ghost Master

I'm guessing that not many people on these forums own this game - especially as the developer went bust. But anyways, it's a slightly offbeat, and rather enjoyable strategy/puzzle game. I can't quite fit it into either category. On the one hand you have to handle resources and plan your moves, but on the other hand you have to use specific powers in specific places to achieve unique events, in a manner not unlike puzzle and adventure games. And it's funny. So go, get the demo from http://www.ghostmaster.com. And then buy it. You'll enjoy it, I promise...
  2. Welcome, "thejizzer!"

But surely the Fat Man hides the extra leg?
  3. Just what ARE you playing right now?

The game may be good, but I should enter that site into an ugly website competition...
  4. Just what ARE you playing right now?

Go find Thief 2: The Metal Age, then. I think there's only one level with a cameo zombie appearance...
  5. The Geneology of Games

It's supposed to be terrible. But you might enjoy it...
  6. Ghost Master

I dunno... I suck at strategy games, but seem to be doing fine .
  7. Commander Keen

Agreed - if only to go with dopefish...
  8. Ghost Master

And, from what I've played of it, it does NOT require ultra-amazing timing to succeed. It's more a puzzle game, in which you have to decide what ghost powers to use where.
  9. Commander Keen

Or just use the no-clipping cheat ...

    Happy Birthday, Emma!
  11. BUY games? what are you, stupid?

And what about the great games that don't sell? What about the Thief games, Deus Ex and System Shock 2? XIII, and Beyond Good and Evil? You've confused me. Are you really suggesting that publishers should stop taking risks on these kind of games (and the plethora of games that have potential but happen to end up being bad) just so you can save £5 on Half-Life 2?
  12. Ghost Master

The review I read was positive...
  13. Where do you work/study?

My favourite McDonalds advert is a recent one. They were forced to put less salt on their chips/fries for health reasons. Note the use of the word 'forced'. And the advert? Something about how McDonalds was caring for you by lowering salt levels, so mum could feel happy as child turned into fat-junkie...
  14. I never said that I didn't enjoy them at the time! What I meant was that there is absolutely no excuse for a modern game not to learn from the mistakes of the past, and repeating them is a bad thing...
  15. There is one copy of Lemmings Revolution for sale on Ebay - but without a picture. Now, I'm pretty sure I never saw it in a shop, and I'm pretty sure it would have had a budget release by now if it had been released. But hey, who knows?
  16. Where do you work/study?

    /me steals from Erwin
  17. BUY games? what are you, stupid?

I think Microsoft and EA have done a lot of good things over the years, but I'm disappointed with the way in which EA operates nowadays - especially its habit of buying out successful developers, forcing them to work on sequels and then promptly closing them...
  18. There's a reason why I wouldn't play the Commander Keen games now - they may be classics, but that doesn't stop them from being flawed. Just because an old game (excusably) gets something wrong, it doesn't mean that a new game should be allowed to...
  19. Where do you work/study?

I hate him more for having an original, boxed copy of Wing Commander IV: The Price of Freedom...
  20. Where do you work/study?

I'm in the sixth form at The Portsmouth Grammar School. The website is complete rubbish, but the place itself is nice.
  21. Ah, Lemmings. One game crying out for another remake (or the licence owners can just make me very happy by releasing a pack containing all the games!)...
  22. BUY games? what are you, stupid?

If we're looking at this in strictly legal terms, then it probably isn't. But, and this is a BIG but, it is morally far worse, and is far harder to justify.
  23. I'm aware that the game itself is free, and I apologise for the badly thought-out/worded nature of my original post. Looking back on it now, I certainly didn't mean it to come across as it did. Credit to Valve for supporting their fans - though that doesn't make this a good game. Oh, and I have played platform games. I *love* platform games. But I don't think that this is a good example of one.
