  1. Movie/TV recommendations

I really like it! It's basically Lost but with a big "Fuck you, there are no answers" right there in every line of dialogue almost. I only started watching a couple months back and I liked s1 but s2 is much stronger. Aside from Eccleston, Carrie Coon is also fantastic! And Justin Theroux has grown on me after almost two seasons!
  2. [RELEASE] Blue Hag Christmas

Having opened up and tried his test comic I can attest that it's totally brillo and much better than my three panels. Also, thanks for bug testing my barely functioning cwine engine, Ben!!
  3. Full Throttle Remastered

That's just fan art. Not from the Double Fine remaster. I bet Ben will be in here in a moment to explain how that image is rubbish.
  4. "Cars sucks." - A Pixar Thread

No, if we're going to do a Pixar rewatch, we have to include both Cars. I watch the first one regularly with my son and even though it's completely rubbish I always find something I like in it and I'd be interested in hearing people's wildly different opinion on why Cars is rubbish! We must all face the Cars. I'll have to try and scramble some thoughts about Finding Nemo sometime. Short version, I have become a sucker for father-son stories at this time in my life. I've watched it way too many times with my son and I get teary-eyed at the end of it..
  5. [Release] Shitty Wizard Comic

It would have to be like four puffins standing on top of each other.
  6. [Release] Shitty Wizard Comic

Alright, here's the first actual main character, because that shitty wizard is not the main character I have decided. It's Mr. Puffin.
  7. Psychonauts 2

The hub world is the Psychonauts HQ! Rad!
  8. Movie/TV recommendations

Just going to quickly say that Monsters University gets a bad rep. I wasn't into it on the first viewing, but I've come to really appreciate much of it on repeated viewings. It's like an inverse Pixar story curve, in that it starts out a mess but gradually gets better until it really nails the ending in a very simple and efficient way. It also refreshingly dumps the almost standard “you can do ANYTHING you want, as long as you put your mind to it!” kids movie message, which it seems to be building up to. It's definitely less of a mess than Cars. Also, DORY IS THE BEST, YOU ARE BOTH WRONG! :(
  9. Psychonauts 2

I backed it before even seeing the video!
  10. [Release] Shitty Wizard Comic

This is where I wanted to put my shitty wizard, who speaks in runes.
  11. Movie/TV recommendations

    I really miss that guy.
  12. Oh god.. Everytime Blizzard puts out a new trailer for WoW I keep wishing it ends with a "WarCraft IV" logo and keep getting disappointed..
  13. How you could stay awake during Daredevil is beyond me. What a snoozefest!
  14. Free To Play - This Topic Is Not Post To Win

Despite loving Crossy Road I totally agree with this. The different characters are fun, but the amount of buttons and shit you can press besides just the play again button is overwhelming and distracting. This is even worse in their 256 Pac Man game or whatever it's called. My 3yo son can't play those two games because getting through the menus is too hard. The core game is simple enough that he can have fun with it, but once he dies he has trouble identifying which button actually gets him back into the game. It's a bummer..
  15. Yeah, I couldn't stand Daredevil but this has me completely hooked now two episodes in. Excellent stuff!
  16. The Big FPS Playthrough MISSION COMPLETE

This thread is great Ben! I'm so happy Dark Forces was on your list. I don't think I ever actually played the full game. I only played the demo (and I played that demo over and over and over) and thought it was fantastic. Bummed, but not surprised, that it gets repetitive..
  17. [DevLog] Cwine!

Panel and Element adding is in! Now you can drag and drop images from your computer into the Images tab, that can then be dragged into the Node View. It's loading/saving off your local storage (or the best version localForage can find for it) so it's closer to how Twine works. Eventually, it would be nice to have a substitute for it, like Dropbox integration (suggested by toblix The Wise) so you don't risk losing it if you clear your browser's local storage. And then a "output game .zip" which just outputs a .zip with the game and a clean runtime for it, ready to upload somewhere. I need to update the runtime so it previews your project from the localstorage as well, but at the same time keep a clean version of the runtime that *just* loads a single .json file. Anyway, thanks to gerbilsinspace and toblix the code is now running node.js, browserify, gulp and all that fancy shit!
  18. SPECTRE (new James Bond movie)

I can't even tell because I don't remember anything about Quantum of Solace other than thinking it was shit. On the flip side, I watched Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation and it was basically the same plot as Spectre only not shit. It felt like a long-running series realising exactly what works and what doesn't and just making a movie out of it.
  19. SPECTRE (new James Bond movie)

Yeah, Spectre was rubbish. It was a high-budget Bond parody. Highlight of the movie was seeing the new Star Wars trailer on the big screen!

  21. Day of the Tentacle Special Edition

Nah, after seeing a shot on the DF forums of DOTT:Remastered running on an Indiecade screen I was filled with so much joy, all nitpickiness left my body completely. Can't wait to lie in my couch playing that on my TV.
  22. [DevLog] Cwine!

Thanks, I'm also excited about the story of The Cool Town Steak.
  23. [DevLog] Cwine!

This is coming along nicely! Still haven't implemented any way to.. y'know.. add panels, but SO WHAT, RITE?! Properties for panels and panel elements (bubbles) and the project are now editable in the Property tab. Speech bubbles can be dragged around and positioned!! Wut?! Branching paths work in the runtime now! And with cool highlight tinting that is probably not supported *at all* in any older browsers! Saving/Loading is not broken anymore! You still can't add new panels or bubbles, but whatever.. I still haven't made a story about toblix So yeah, biggest thing to add now is UI for adding new panels/speech bubbles to the node graph. Then it'll be on par with my jam game last year. Then I can add some cool new nodes to introduce randomness and conditions and such.
  24. Day of the Tentacle Special Edition

Nice! Thanks for the hands-on impressions! I'm so excited about this! Have they mentioned any release dates? Is there a short documentary incoming, like they did with Grim Fandango?
