Implementing my sweet, sick notepad ramp.. I may have made it a bit too steep.. https://vine.co/v/MV77qipvJ7E EDIT: That's more like it! https://vine.co/v/MV7hTlYxF1h

I'm trying to rewrite the driving code for Tiny Tires (because the physics solution I have now just keeps doing random things, catching little bumps on the track, losing momentum on jumps, etc.) It's not going entirely well! https://vine.co/v/M9IIrWjx23F

It was a bit weird to me, but only because I've been quite fond of the ads so far where the Thumbs have actually used the service in question and enthusiastically recommend it. I'm using Hover and Squarespace because of the Thumbs!

I just use IRCCloud.com for both the browser and iPhone.

That was fantastic! Great tempo!

THAT SOUNDS AWESOME! I honestly don't know why I stopped watching Family Guy, when obviously it has consistently gotten better and funnier with every season.

Just out if curiosity, have they talked about how they're making the galaxy of systems, etc.? Some sort of procedural generation and then going in and hand-crafting some of it? That ship's cockpit... I do want to walk around that.. I'm very happy that there are three space games in development all with a different focus and a very different aesthetic that are all very appealing to me somehow.

Wait, how is Routine a Myst-like like? Aside from the first person perspective?

Idle Thumbs 166: Cyberpunk Cop-Killer

Hah! I didn't even hear it until you mentioned it. Poor Sean.. His time in the spotlight, and he blows it! -
I have a feeling they're not sticking to the press release to the letter, because they keep calling it a remake while DF always call it specifically a 'remaster' which, presumably, is to keep people from expecting a fully remade Grim Fandango..

Yep! No matter how little regular movie goers care, it does matter to the person in the credits. But fair enough, if Stan Lee doesn't make any money off these films then fine.. he can have his old man opinions.

What a shitty attitude for a guy who makes a load of money on films made by these people he "doesn't care at all" about.. Ugh.. EDIT: Yeah, I agree with Twig, though I didn't think it sucked at a grand scale, but it was definitely great on a moment-to-moment basis.

I love these cute, little first-person animations! They're so lovely. Lovable. Love. -
Damn Right!

NO! YOU MUST CHOOSE A SIDE! ARE YOU WITH US OR AGAINST US?!
-
Nope! Even if it did feel better, and it doesn't, and the tracks were better, which they aren't, it still looks like ass. Not gonna do it!

I remember the Thumbs talking about some shareholder Q&A thing.. was it EA's? Wherein a lot of stupid questions were asked. Here's the latest Nintendo shareholder Q&A, which includes nothing but stupid questions. "Can I get free games?" "Could you make it so the 3DS screen can be manually adjusted in size?" "So.. tell us more about that new Zelda!" "Why are there meeting note slides at the beginning instead of pretty pictures?" EDIT: Here's a harsh one!

I'm sad that Danielle never mentions Captain Toad, not even in the ABCDE3 where it would've been perfect to fill in the C! I mean, it's Captain Toad in his own game! What's not to be excited about?!

Hmm.. apart from the name I don't think there's anything similar to the two games. Wayward Souls is more like Rogue Legacy, I think. I played a little of it, and it was quite neat.

Hm.. jump/slide shimmy boost? You mean the drifting boost? 'Cause they didn't remove that. I gotta say.. I've only tried the demo, but I do not at all get the level of praise Sonic All Star Racing gets. It didn't look good, it just looked very busy (which made the tracks hard to read for me) and the racing controls just didn't click with me.. It felt too floaty and the drifting did something.. I don't know what.. it just felt wrong! Maybe there's just something wrong with me! It didn't help that I'm not a big Sega fan, so there was almost no nostalgia playing through weird levels from.. some game I didn't know..

But yes, those end levels are absolutely fantastic and continue to be amazing! I'm very happy they decided to do away with the concept of lives entirely. Makes the game feel less frustrating even when it gets much, much harder.
