  1. Movie/TV recommendations

Wow, Birdman looks absolutely fantastic! Excited already! Then I found out it's showing in Denmark.. in January next year.. BAH! Gotta make room for all those Expendables and Transformers, I guess..
  2. Video Game Baby - Idle Parents

I can tell you that my 2-year old refuses to press accelerate in Mario Kart 8, so he just drives backwards into a wall and then watches me play/interferes with me playing/makes me drive backwards. It's great fun! But I bet MK8 is great for a four-year old.
  3. Awesome! Can't wait to see the streams, to see what it plays like.
  4. Animated Shorts

Ah, I gotcha! Yeah, Charles Huettner is bold in that way and he almost exclusive does this kind of stuff.
  5. Animated Shorts

Yeah, Late Night Work Club's first compilation was brillo pops. And Charles Huettner is doing some fantastic work all the time! i_smell, what do you mean unappealing? As usual, Gobelins School of Animation is doing some amazing work on the Annecy Animation Festival intros this year. http://motionographer.com/2014/06/13/gobelins-annecy-2014/
  6. Plug your shit

Yeah, a lot of people didn't figure out to click the first text bubble! Bah! And yeah, it does look like a penis.. I just went with it! It's SYMBOLIC! And THANKS everyone for the wonderful comments!
  7. The Nintendo Wii U is Great Thread

Apparently Nintendo stealth-released Pac-Land on the Wii U VC..
  8. Does not what? I am positive I answered a question about which country/city I live in.. O_o
  9. There's a survey question asking which country/city you're from. Maybe if you filled it out with your country you'd get more internationally relevant ads?
  10. Yessss! Pac-Man 2! I remember trying to play that on an emulator.. I had absolutely no idea what I was supposed to be doing..
  11. The Nintendo Wii U is Great Thread

Yeah, the ones in the levels themselves are required to unlock the last world. There are some extra stamps you can get besides those, that are unimportant, but those require playing levels with all characters, I think..
  12. Plug your shit

I made a comic/twine (cwine!) thing for the Public Domain Jam, I thought I'd plug here. It's super short, and there's not a whole of branching, because.. jams! But check it out. It's hopefully a bit faster now (images preload and it was doing some heavy array searching before) if you've played it already. www.diesiebenraben.com
  13. Twig, are you talking about the weird pixel-y houses? That's Pac-Land!
  14. The Nintendo Wii U is Great Thread

Whaa? I unlocked the Final World without playing it all it with every character. Are you sure you're not missing a Stamp somewhere? I felt the opposite.. As someone who never 100% anything, it was an absolute blast to get everything to unlock the Final World. There was one level that was just bullshit.. a Pirahna Plant Fire Flower level.. I'm not going to 100% it, because that requires me to beat that absolute last level, which is just a brutal brutal thing.. But up until that I thought the difficulty was exactly right for me.
  15. The Nintendo Wii U is Great Thread

Pushmo World looks adorable! And available in a week?! (They're demo-ing it on Nintendo's stream right now)
  16. The E3 Retrospectapalooza

Exactly! Man.. I've watched that Zelda footage over and over and I can't get over how beautiful the smoke/particle/explosions look. They look perfectly cartoonish.
  17. The E3 Retrospectapalooza

Polygon's Zelda Preview is basically a recap of what Eiji Aonuma said and then some excellent in-depth analysis: "I'm not quite sold on the lasers yet, but I guess we'll see."
  18. .... I really hope to god they don't. The last thing a Grim Fandango remake needs is social features.
  19. The E3 Retrospectapalooza

Not saying Nintendo did superbly or anything (although, there were a lot of games there I personally wanted) but Arkham Knight and Mirror's Edge.. are those really megatons? They're two games we already knew about, right? Also.. Holy shit, Kirby made entirely out of clay.. Sold!
  20. Metroid Prime: Great Game or Greatest Game?

Huh.. It was the opposite for me. For so long I just couldn't play dual-stick FPS games decently.. Then came Metroid Prime and it just felt so natural to me, for some reason.
  21. Just to put it out there, Tim Schafer tweeted that it was specifically console-exclusive to PS4. Which, like Jon Blow said about The Witness, means it's still open for coming to whatever non-console platforms they want.
  22. The E3 Retrospectapalooza

The goal of the game does seem to be find resources to upgrade your ship, aside from exploring and marking new planets/species/etc. But "find resources to upgrade/build things" is basically the goal of MineCraft and you didn't like that.. I'm sure there'll be something optional to guide you around at the start, but I'm just saying I don't want the entire game to have objectives/missions, etc. Because in the end, I want to make up my own missions/narrative.
  23. The E3 Retrospectapalooza

This is why I hope there's no explicit purpose to No Man's Sky, no over-arching mission structure or something like that. Maybe some optional introductory stuff, of course. But let us play/explore the game the way we want to!
