I LOVE APPLIANCES! Has anyone here ever been to Florida? I was there the past week and saw these commercials on all the time, they're probably the most unintentionally funny commercials I've ever seen.

I think that psychonauts is selling poorly just because majesco screwed up. The ads suck (what's the point of adverstising on the radio) and there's no need for them to have contests that cost them millions of dollars to have and that no one knows about. They can't even get copies of the game to stores, it's kinda hard to buy a game when it's not in stores.

Given that the media doesn't even do any research on a game before blaming it for violence, I really doubt that they even know what a mod is. EDIT: Umm..was that media comment a joke or did you already know that this was happening?

Hopefully Majesco will get copies of the fucking game in stores so Doublefine won't have to close down because Majesco doesn't know how to sell a game.

I just had a dream where I wanted to play King's Quest:Mask of Eternity but it didn't work or something. Then I joined an underground resistance group that gave me a batman comic as a token of their appreciation.

Except he never actually went to a mental insitute or (claimed to not) take any drugs. Apparently he just went to south africa for some religious vacation because it gets pretty frustrating when thousands of 19 year old white people constantly yell "I'm Rick James bitch!"

Isn't it just an extended cutscene during the last level of the game? I still haven't finished it yet, I'm having trouble finding 5 figments.

I love how it says that Statham was in the movie Collateral, even though he was only in it for 5 seconds (not an exaggeration). They could of at least said he was in Snatch or Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels. And this movie has a 60 million dollar budget? Holy crap, usually they're only 10 million dollars. I hope this movie bombs just as badly as his other stuff.

Well I suppose it means that my best buy just sucks (or is selling all its copies) and that Majesco didn't royally fuck up (aside from the 2 of the same cd in one box and shipping the game half a month late)

Their marketing does suck. They waste so much money on internet contests that no one knows about, plus they have radio commercials. How can you have radio commercials for a game? You need to show what the game looks like for anyone to care. Plus I only saw one copy of Psychonauts for the x-box at best buy. I didn't see any playstation 2 or pc copies of the game. I really doubt that this is best buy's fault due to the fact that they more copies of crappy games like herbie the love bug for gba. They probably don't produce enough copies of the game to actually meet demand (the copies of psychonauts for pc that they had last time I was there are now gone). Not to mention that it took them half a month to ship the game to me after they finished the game.

Somewhere on gamespot I read that Majesco was making a profit for the first time ever in a long time due to the sales of Psychonauts and other stuff. Psychonauts was also on the top 10 selling games list on gamespot for at least a week (or month or whatever span of time it is measured by)

Apparently Psychonauts is selling well enough to take Majesco out of the red, but Wallstreet still thinks that's not enough copies. Actually, Majesco's stock probably dropped mostly because of all the money they wasted on Advent Rising. http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/06/29/news_6128338.html

If you have a gamecube, you should get Ikaruga. That's a pretty awesome (but insanely hard) game.

At least it's better than what's usually played on Comedy Central (Mad TV). I've gone from watching Comedy Central all the time to almost not at all due to the fact that they play that show all day.

They can't make THAT much money, weren't they roommates up until just recently? I suppose that they might make enough to hold a convention though. They probably make a ton from advertising and the mini series comics that they do for UbiSoft

Idle Thumbs could have podcasts with special guests like Tim Schafer and Ron Gilbert, it would be a lot easier than having to write articles and stuff.

A couple of thoughts about his voting choices... I think that Burnout 3 was the best racing game for the year, but if you really wanted to go with a non-ea vote, I guess you could pick Wipeout Pure. For best rpg I would pick Jade Empire. For best handheld game, I would pick Lumines. As much as I love WarioWare games, Lumines was really really cool and one of those games IdleThumbs would really like if they would actually review it. And I think Half-life 2 should be game of the year. And I voted (which meant registering for the site...ugh)
