Yeah I remember that. If memory suits me right I still have that at home, at my parents place. I believe that was in Man!ac a long time ago. A two page ad if I remember correctly. But I could be wrong and I probably am. AND I am probably NOT going to dive through twelve years worth of gaming mags to find it.

It's not even in prototype. I very much doubt it's going to be out this year, if ever. Of course, as was pointed out, there might be a market for this in the professional sector, but that (as well as the OLEDs in the keys) would put it way beyond "regular folks' " budget for a LONG time. Probably this is only going to come out at an affordable price point once the whole Flatpaneldisplay market finally reaches massmarket level. So probably two or three years... But of course it's going to be out next month

Yeah Ran is amazing, haven't seen Yojimbo yet and Throne of Blood is ace. Ran really amazes me from a directional point of view as some of the stuff and the way Kurosawa did it is really impossible to me. Only in Japan!

To me that sounds utterly impossible. God that guy is NICE! Too bad he's not in Xbox anymore. Had I known more about him and the whole idea behind Xbox, maybe I would have bought one. On the other hand buying a 360 to me is completely unthinkable. Hopefully Fries remains involved in gaming, it sure seems like he is REALLY enthousiastic about it.

Ok I read all the other posts, but at this point it seems impossible to actually get into all of it. I think in a lot of ways it's really about a sense of self that is missing from popular culture to a large extent. A lot of people define themselves through media of any given type. "Advertising has us chasing cars and buying shit that we don't need." Music is just music and I can honestly say that my taste in music is guided by two things. 1. If it's good. 2. I have to be exposed to it at some point. I have other things to do with my life and can't spend so much time looking for one good record. As far as humor is concerned, Douglas Adams is truly missed and I don't feel ashamed saying that I was crying as I read the note by Steven Fry at the end of "Salmon of a Doubt". A great man and truly unique perspective on life that now only exists in his books. Seeing the humor in life to me is true wisdom. It means being able to step back and seeing things the way they truly are. Humor means being able to laugh about yourself first and foremost.

It's not a bad game, it's possibly not quite as good as some hype would suggest, but then I would say that hype is merely a compensation because so little people got into it in the first place. Clear and simple it's the concept that's in the way. You can't make a game that plays like a holiday in the life of an acid freak and expect the general public to buy that! Imagine pitching the game to one of your friends and imagine how often you would have to use the word "but"! It's a platformer BUT it's not like other platformers... etc. It's simply too far out there conceptwise. Once you would get people to play it, they might actually enjoy it, but I think it's simply not appealing on a very basic "gut feeling" leve where you have to be to get the general public. As it is, if you are a fan of this game, GET MORE PEOPLE TO PLAY!!!

yeah I stopped at some point as well and now after two months "cold turkey" I am again able to appreciate the game. And YES it is definitely easier to level up in WoW than in any other MMORPG and that has been one of the BIG improvements Blizzard has been talking about with WoW...

well that's become the norm now, hasn't it? the first minute there's footage to show there's a trailer out, or even before that. quite frankly I think it's come to the point where marketing seems downright desperate...

well since Holmes is not going to be in the next one (WIN!!!) there is going to be another one of those lame revelatory moments (yawn) but I am really intrigued as to the identity of the new joker! and I think that this is definitely the best Batman yet, even though I am a huge fan of Nicholson's joker, the realness of the new setting gives a whole new meaning to the term "character development" in the comic-adaptation genre... nice

Well, I do believe that WoW has done one unique thing that makes Powerlevelling more likely. It's just too damn easy! One of the biggest "innovations" that WoW introduced to MMOGs is the instant gratification. Essentially it is possible to hit the level cap in less than a month. Hell when I first started playing in Beta I managed to get to level 20 within two days! I know that it is a matter of maturity and now playing with a good friend I usually don't even think about XP anymore, but that's still a load of crap. By making it possible to gain two levels a day (through powelevelling) Blizzard took the fun out of being anything but level 60! Why should I buy expensive items before I hit the levelcap? All in all I think the game is just too easy. Group play as well is just shit, because there is no real challenge apart from not grouping with stupid morons. The saving grace is the great world and the occasional chance to do real roleplaying with fun people. That and goofing off... heh...

Classic line delivered perfectly... hmmm I do have to say that I thought they tossed a lot of potential for an intrigueing storyline out the window by the way they dealt with the Scarecrow! That guy can seriously act! He scared the beejeezus out of me! The way he puts on the mask when he's talking to Falcone! WOW BEST VILLAIN EVER WASTED! Actually that was my only BIG gripe, I actually found the scarecrow much better than Neeson's character!

The Blezniczik talks about the "FUTURE" of the FPS genre and manages to make HL2 out to be the logical evolution of the Adventure genre... wow didn't see that coming... Which is his true motivation AND imho a load of shit... but there you go! He goes on about other reasons and how there are arguments for either first person or third person but essentially I think it's the graphics and that is clearly NOT the best reason to implement something as crucial as this...
