I told him to eat chicken and he did a little bow. I told him to play Nintendo and I think he gave me the finger. I told him to listen to The Beatles and he looked at me funny. I told him to watch Rushmore and he did something that I can't explain. I told him to do a backflip and he did. At least he did a backflip.

All bow to the greatness and mightiness that is Nintendo, I love them so much!

I saw it, it's probably the dumbest thing I've seen since Be Cool (it doesn't have half of the idiocy of Be Cool, but nothing does). The dialogue was laughable, story was a usual predictable clich'e, and those cuts with those '70s-esque lines what's the deal with those anyway? The only Star Wars movie I kinda liked is the first (or fourth, it's very confusing). The odd part is that I can't imagine my life without it, without Star Wars there wouldn't be LucasArts and without LucasArts who knows how adventure games would have been (not that Lucas had an essential part in those, but he is the money)? And great things like Spaceballs wouldn't exist. I hate feeling like I'm in debt to something that I hate, but I can't imagine my life without Star Wars. Anyway, I found this today:http:www.sithsense.com/flash.htm Darth Vader will read your mind in 20 questions or less in this Burger King add. It took him 23 to guess that I'm thinking of a pencil, and it took him exactly 20 (with a little help from a friend) to guess that my brother was thinking of a dingo (the animal, not my Idle Thumbs name). I beat the system!

By IGN.cube A flood of all-new information on The Legend of Zelda came pouring through the Internet this morning, thanks to Spanish games publication Hobby Consolas. Fans of the Zelda series have faced an arduous wait for details, since Nintendo has kept most everything concerning the game a guarded secret. Apart from an aesthetic makeover, most gamers could only speculate as to what elements would separate this new Zelda from previous titles in the series. The new report points to several key aspects which should pull the new Zelda ahead of its older brethren. For starters, The Legend of Zelda for GameCube promises some 70 hours of gameplay spread across a world eclipsing that of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. In fact, the new adventure sports a gameworld two to three times larger than the classic Nintendo 64 title. With such a massive play area, Link will need serious transportation. As seen in previous trailers, Link will once again call on a loyal steed to carry him around Hyrule. That chunk of information seemed obvious given the official trailers. It was also easy to guess combat on horseback would play a significant role in the game, but now it's confirmed thanks to recent reports. Gamers can fully expect spectacular horse battles. Whether gamers will fight bosses on horseback remains uncertain, but it seems likely. According to the publication, this new information comes from three separate game demos shown to the writer of the article. Link sports a new farmer's outfit in one of the demos, which takes place at the beginning of the game in Tauro Village. At this point in the game Link is said to be 16 years old. But according to the report, Link will mature during the course of the adventure. Whether this means he will simply "grow up" in terms of character or age physically remains unknown...it could be both. But the direct Spanish tranlsation of a passage in the article states that "although Link will be an adult at the start of the adventure, he will also mature little by little, over the passage of time." From screens printed in the magazine, the new outfit looks to blend "peasant" clothes of different cultures to achieve an altogether unique style. These same screens show the Triforce emblazoned on Link's left hand. Cool indeed. Link himself looks different from any other Zelda title. Eiji Aonuma wanted Link to sport a manga-inspired look, partly because the Link shown in the Space World 2000 looked like a lifeless puppet. Link and other characters still look more realistic, especially considering the visual style employed in The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, only with slightly exaggerated facial features. It's an interesting blend of realism and fantasy. According to the report, Taoru Village looked huge and boasted several zones. It also acted as a tutorial of sorts, much like Kikiri Village in The Ocarina of Time. Eiji Aonuma designed the tutorial as a fun, seamless experience so fans of the series and newcomers alike wouldn't get bored or frustrated with it. In one instance, Link needs to help a pregnant women carry heavy objects into her house as a way of teaching players specific skills. Another demo has Link on horseback herding cows into a ranch. This mini-game has a time limit, so players need to guide Link quickly to achieve the goal. Yet another demo, arguably the coolest, saw Link battle a horde of armored minions while riding his horse. The article stated a player could choose between Link's sword and bow to take down the enemy riders. Apparently, Link's bow no longer boasts infinite range, so players need to move in for the kill with both weapons. Players will also need to dodge long-range and short-range attacks from enemy riders, making room for strategic battles. The battlefield featured in the demo seemed massive, according to the publication, with ample room for each rider to maneuver his horse, or bore, whichever the case. Unlike the aesthetic elements, controlling Link will feel familiar to anyone who has played the last two games in the series. Jumping will be automatic, for example, and gamers will once again use "Z targeting" to lock on enemies. Only now, of course, the GameCube controller's L trigger replaces the N64's Z trigger. Unfortunately, there's no new info regarding the game's story or title, since Eiji Aounuma wants to save all the "big" surprises for the Electronic Entertainment Exp next month. Well, Aonuma did let something slip. He said the reason they chose to go with realistic, transparent water as opposed to the type seen in The Wind Waker, is that it simply makes the world more beautiful and also opens up a new "subaquatic" world. A new, underwater temple, perhaps? And there you have it folks, new information. Such a rare thing these days. Here's a link for some scans (sorry, it's the best I found): http://www.jeux-france.com/news9652_de-nouveaux-scans-pour-zelda.html Sounds good, but I still miss the Wind Wakers artstyle. It spoiled me so... Mr. T is on vacation... fool!

Good question, perhaps a group of hungry hungry hippos. I feel so dumb right now... I edited the post.

I found this a few days ago, thought it was funny and oddly enough still do. So I guess it's worth a thread. http://www.powerstrike.net/Tehkan/mamejump.html

My mom/mum speaks and understands very little english. So no... she doesn't read Idle Thumbs. My brother used to sometimes, but World of Warcraft has taken over him, so he doesn't anymore.

I hear (or read) birthday and I gotsta go: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

I have a great idea for a frightening picture that'll make you wish you were blind and not able to see the horrific horror that lurks in the veil of petrifying darkness that is the picture. I guess I could get a sloth for a reasonable price, but were will I find a snake big enough to swallow a rhino? And a flashlight!? Who am I, Bill Gates? It's cheaper just to buy Doom 3.
-
You know, it does. I never even played with it, I just think it's a cute little/big thing.

That was nice, incrediblely long read in 2 A.M. but a great read.

I think it looks alright, Johnny Deep isn't all that good for the part but he is a good actor, I doubt that he'll be terrible. Though I trust Tim Burton in making good films Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory really didn't need a remake, it's a classic, no remake can surpass it mainly because it has a golden feeling that's nearly nonexistent in films these days. I'll definitly see it, though.

I've seem this already but it's nice to see it again. That fat Saturn controller is so cute! http://www.axess.com/twilight/console/detail/saturn_b.html

I hate that kind of behavior, and it's frequent human behavior which is the real sad part. 12,912 in eleven days or so days isn't such a horrid number it's not a good number by any means but it's not terrible. I especially hate when people complain about a game that sold quite well, Eternal Darkness is a prime example, the game sold well over 500,000 unites in let's say a year for a console (a great console) that at the time was around ten million unites sold, is that a bad number a game that's owned by five percent of its audience? Even the game's director Dennis Dyack was convinced that it didn't do all that well, so what if it's a Nintendo game? Does that automatically mean it'll sell millions? The worse is when a gamer is convinced: "a game that doesn't sell over a million copies is a failure", it's a common opinion, I want to punch those people in the throat for being such nitwits. I'm also trying to push Psychonauts in people's faces, in hope that they'll take an interest. I've started a thread in the other forum that I visit: http://www.n-philes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14080 (I'm The S.S. Saturn) Zig, BuzzJive, and Git are pretty much my favorite people in that site, I doubt that I influenced their purchase, which shows: good people like good games regardless of hype. I just want Double Fine to do well and have their creative freedom.

In a game? No. Real life? Maybe.

This game did the unimaginable, it made licensed gangster games sound even worse. Now that's an achievement.

There's a christian review site named Christian Centered Game Reviews. http://www.ccgr.org/default.asp It's a serious site, though it may be ridiculously dumb (and funny) at times, its intentions are good. It reviews appropriateness and such. For example, here's their Psychonauts review: http://www.ccgr.org/article_read.asp?id=802 And here's a GTA San Andreas review that was written in their forum, it's the only San Andreas review that I agree with, and I'm not christian nor religious: http://www.ccgr.org/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=875&FORUM_ID=1&CAT_ID=1&Topic_Title=Grand+Theft+Auto%3A+San+Andreas+review&Forum_Title=Announcements+and+Polls

I don't think the MGS4 movie was a trailer, it's just another commercial claiming Kojima's superiority over his co-workers. That's really what I hate about the guy, he has an outstanding team that is over shadowed by his ubiquitous name and rarely get the credit for their hard work. I agree with you, netmonkey, I also mentioned the same thing various times (I think). The dialogue is just sad, the characters are laughable at times, and it tries too hard to be a chessy B-Hollywood-movie. It's a fun game, it's a shame they almost ruin it with those things.
-
HAHAHAHA!!!!!! That's one of my favorite episodes. Good luck to you on your new job, netmonkey. I hope it'll get better when you'll get settled in, or you'll just go insane like most of those people that work with computers, being insane is underrated, it's also a type of job if you think about it, where would the world be without those conspiracies loving people? Or those old ladies with thousands of cats? So good luck to you!

Cool! I get to use my deciphering skill to make sense of this. Okay, here we go: Dingo's interpretation: The "PS3" (as he calls it) has a bommerang for a controller, as most of us established in its thread. So what he's actually saying is: I us a bommerang to hunt my dinners once or twice a year or on an anniversary. Just like MGS3 except with a bommerang and less frequently. Dingo's interpretation: X means: Xtreme. 360 means: same as before (you already know that, but still). Interpretation: I will make a 360 in my restaurant choice, as such, I will frequent the same restaurant, it's an Xtreme restaurant that also has an underground cellar, I think it's interesting that it has an underground cellar. (But it's still no Chris Remo http://www.idlethumbs.net/display.php?id=170, nope, nothing is as Xtreme as Chris Remo, but that's not related to this.) Dingo's interpretation: Hideo Kojima has a vast knowledge of military tactics, politics, and social relations with the world. As a result he's probably in a position to start a Japanese revolution and will become its ruler. (He also means: Nintendo's Revolution is going to be great.) So what does all this nonsense means? Hideo Kojima will start an Xtreme revolution with bommerangs. He will start as a speaker in an undeground cellar, later he will win the people's heart, equip them with bommerangs, and start a revolution, becoming Japan's emperor and prime minister. He's one ambitious fellow. He will be considered to be a genius emperor/prime minister with a lot of cut scenes, chessy dialogue, and conspiracies. Oddly enough, the world won't know of his contributions to Japan, for such is the life of a Snake. And there you have it.

Some of you do realize that Pointless Waste of Time is a sick and twisted comedy site, the reason for all those curse words and such is because: that's David Wong's style, he's a twisted person, read this: http://www.pointlesswasteoftime.com/film/returnoftheking.html, some of those pictures still haunt me in my dreams. There's also their classic review of the Silence of The Lambs sequel Hannibal: http://www.pointlesswasteoftime.com/film/hannibal.html, you didn't see that coming, now did you? I also disagree if a few remarks, I found Mario Sunshine's camera troublesome, but superior to Mario 64, and the save points in Metroid Prime weren't all that distant from each boss. So what I'm saying is: don't take this article too seriously, it's fine piece better than most of what you'll read in IGN and Gamespot, but it's still a parody site. Much like Baconian, I also recommend checking Ron Gilbert's links. It's how I found out about Pointless Waste of Time in the first place, with this hilarious article Gilbert posted: http://www.pointlesswasteoftime.com/monkeysphere.html.

Pointless Waste of Time is my favorite comedy site. I visit it daily, yet I've seen this article in Grumpy Gamer too before I went to the site, I think that's odd. They've written some nice Video game related articles in the past, but none come close to this one, they're all justifiable complaints (funny too).

Switching from a 15" monitor to a 19" completely changes the PC experience. Nice to hear you moved on up, Erkki.

It does look and sounds quite nice. I also really liked the flash animation in the site.
