The Business Side of Video (Space) Games EXCLUSIVELY ON IDLE THUMBS
brkl replied to Henroid's topic in Video Gaming
I looked at the trailer connected to the article and got the sense that everything in the plot was revealed to me, but I didn't know at all how the game would play. That's the opposite of what I need! -
True Detective Weekly 1: The Western Book of the Dead
brkl replied to Chris's topic in True Detective Weekly Episodes
I was wondering if you were going to actually go on with the podcast after seeing the first episode. It would feel so disheartening to me. -
It sure looks like CGI. I really liked the movie but hated that shot.

It seems to me like the most applicable bits of Mad Max have been incorporated into different games long ago. I don't know what more a license can give us.

Beyond Thunderdome is on Netflix. It's very dull. I saw the first one about half a year ago in a drunken stupor and still really liked it. I should see Road Warrior again, but I always liked the first film most.

Did they ever add different looking levels?

Social justice indeed.

Project Eternity, Obsidian's Isometric Fantasy RPG

I've found that I just don't use any abilities like rays or walls. Most likely I'll just kill a friend.- 214 replies

I'm sorry, my post was completely misleading. I was comparing the shots to the shots of the main characters home in Human Revolution etc. Those communicated a style and an atmosphere, which isn't the marketing push this time around.

How shit is that compared to the amazing from last time? Now it's just guns. Looks like CoD.

So far being intelligent has been largely useless and when there is a conversation option it tends to be dumb.- 214 replies

I played the game through on a PS3 using only save points. IMO many of the more revolutionary aspects disappear when using regular saves. The buddy system is the most unique, but with quick save, what reason does it have to exisr?
-
I've stopped. Too much of a grind to progress.

Music is great. Use only save points.

Yeah, lack of pedestrian options is a shame. I'm not interested in planning highways, I'm interested in planning cycling routes and pedestrianised zones.

So any suggestions on how to start? I tried to start fresh, but I feel like the limitations on what I can build make it impossible to do a decent job. There's a menu option for that, but it gives you 700,000 to start with. I don't understand how I'm supposed to plan for the future when I can only build dinky roads.

I started my first city and it's going to be a traffic nightmare.

I wonder if it'll be enough. I kind of doubt it.

The broadsword hilt is bad because it suggests Jedis have been a bunch of dumb fools getting their fingers sliced off because they didn't implement this key safety feature. You can't make something more badass by adding safety equipment. Darth Maul's two blades were also dumb, but it only suggested that Maul is willing to take crazy chances and make an already risky weapon more so. It's contained and doesn't suggest all other Jedis have been doing something wrong so far.

Molyneux got away with his hype earlier because his games actually were influential even in their failings. Godus' never aspired to anything and still failed, so people are not prepared to forgive. I haven't read the interview, Walker's first line is too disgusting for me to continue.

Huh, you have to stretch the definition of a syllable pretty far for that word to be more than two.

You were everywhere first.

If you look at the making of, in addition to the orchestra McConnell replaced synth stuff with instruments played in a studio.

Hamlet 2000 with Ethan Hawke. Haven't actually seen it, but I would love to. I guess Ethan Hawke gets on most people's nerves, though.
