Oh I see... Something to look into tomorrow I think

I've heard a lot of things recently about region locking on the Wii and, by the looks of it, the whole thing seems to be surrounded in some strange kind of confusion what with one part of the company saying there won't be region locking and another saying there will be. So has there been any firm clarification on this? Will the games be region locked like every console before it or are they completely region free a la DS? Also, is the same thing applying to the virtual console?

I am so torn on this one. I was going to wait until they all came out and get them all in what I would imagine would be a bundle by then but today I somewhat foolishly downloaded the demo and loved every second of it. Should I just go and get it anyway or still wait?

Wow. Four games at a time? If that's true then that is, without a doubt, one hell of a design flaw

Sounds pretty damn reasonable to me...

Wow! The video is so stupidly awesome. There's nothing particularly new in it but it's nice to see it being played properly as opposed to the stop/start of other videos

Bringing everything here last sure looks like they don't care as much as they could

I was never going to buy it in the first place but they can't be serious not expecting it out until another year in Europe. How much do they depend on European sales? (Not too much I'm guessing). Could this be a nail in the Playstation coffin?

I'm still waiting for either of those games to come out for something I actually own but as far as I know there are no plans for a PC version, right? I can hope...

Did anyone play Spider-Man for the PlayStation? I may be the only one (and a quick look of reviews would suggest I am) but I thought that was terrible! I don't know why, something I just couldn't put my finger on but I borrowed it from a friend and just simply had to complete it...

Aww. Ol' Jack always gets put in a bad light, I wonder why. Bit of a shame he was the only person who you could hear and that the judge was pretty much inaudiable and at the end I think he must nudge the volume control on the camera as it becomes a world of distortion. Also, is it just me or does his face gradually get redder and redder after he's told to put that thing down?

Thank you

When I first saw it I thought it was "Need for Speed: Cabrón" as if it had some kind of Mexican slant on it... I was mildly disappointed

I think part of the problem, as with everything, is the advertising and promotion of these games. Over here in the UK, very few games are advertised anywhere but in gaming magazines. Every once in a while you get one put on TV or in a general magazine but even then it's a magazine aimed at the male population (ie: Zoo) so the adverts are appealing more to existing gamers than getting new ones. If there ever is a game advertised as being specifically for females (like the new adverts for Nintendogs and Animal Crossing) then it's often done in a broad and patronising way like "all girls like puppys" or "it doesn't matter what it is unless it's pink". But that's not very gender specific. Why are males more known for playing games than females? For the same reason someone (forgot who, sorry) said earlier, it's more socially acceptable for males to admit to liking games more than females because there's still this image that gamers are fat nerdy guys who live in their mothers basement in their 30s eating doritos and so on (sorry if that's a little too close to the mark for some people here ) And another point as well, with a new generation of little people coming along and playing games, parental influences come into it all aswell. Lots of children nowadays are growing up in a household where Dad plays games but Mum doesn't so the male-orientated thing circles round again. Cue "When I were a lad" speech...

I'm new to the whole DS thing so think yourself lucky. I've still got to raise the money to get all the games I missed
-
Well the stories normally do it for me but now I'm wondering, maybe I should wait until FFIII comes out for the DS. Surely that would be the best of both worlds, right?

Alright then, I'll check that out. There's stil a few games I want buy for it before that but as soon as I get round to it, I'll give it a try

Honestly, I don't think I have ever really played an RPG. I mean, I used to play Dungeon Master 2 when it came out but even then my Dad did most of the controlling and I just basically watched him and pretended to be involved... Anyhoo, my point is it needs to be something that can not only give me a nice introduction to the series but also to the genre in general. Does that make the question any easier to answer?
