  1. I love Half-Life 2's ending.
  2. I am going in, I am going to force myself to play through the first 2 hours. Too many people say how great it is, and I've only played the first 20 minutes or so (I ended up getting sucked into FO3 and L4D and never going back to it). I will report back on if it's awesome later on or still overwhelming like it felt for the first 20 minutes.
  3. ULTIMATE GAMER (only attractive people apply)

    ...
  4. FarCry 2 (hah) Gothic 1 Company of Heroes Morrowind
  5. Dawn of War makes me want to do Warhammer art

Nahhh, I don't really have enough steady free time to commit to those. One of these days though. I worked on it some more this weekend but FarCry2 sucked me in a bit too much. The more I look at it the more I notice a lot of little shit that's wrong. Next weekend then!
  6. Today is the day I force myself to play FarCry2.

Wow, I clocked quite a few hours there. Several things I liked, a few things I definitely wasn't crazy about, but overall pretty neat. It definitely gets better past the tutorial phase.
  7. Quake Live

Actually pretty fun when you get past the line. I haven't played in a few months, but I'm liking the new skill ranking stuff. 23 hours ago they twittered they have about 8,500 people online at a time out of 290,000 accounts registered so far (3%). That is pretty good despite all the launch hiccups. They put the que system in but didn't expect it to trigger within minutes like it did, so they were pretty happy they put that in. That would of been gnarly without it though.
  8. GDC

Will be hanging out in the secret games, video games (and booze) suite at the Westin this year for sure, so look me up if you want in. Last year had some interesting surprise guests depending on what time and day you visited(Jay Allard S&M party*). Thursday nights are always a hoot usually! * Did not happen
  9. Dawn of War makes me want to do Warhammer art

Thanks guys. Internet is for sharing. Have some last minute rush stuff getting done unfortunately so haven't been able to touch it, but expect to get back to it this weekend probably to keep chipping away at it.
  10. Idle Thumbs 20: Idle Thumbs 2000

I can't believe Hugo's house of horrors was just referenced.
  11. Idle Thumbs 20: Idle Thumbs 2000

Good stuff. Dante's Inferno (ITS IN THE GAME)
  12. Dawn of War 2

    Both really good point
  13. Dawn of War 2

Gah the campaign system setup is so simple and a small effort, yet works so well and is addicting. Kudos whoever thought that up. This makes me want to play Diablo2. I feel like I'm playing the love child of Dawn of War and Diablo2. Anyhow, great game, I haven't even touched the MP yet and I sunk a lot of hours into this weekend.
  14. Dave Gilbert's new game...

Got the demo, just need to try it. Unfortunately it's game developer beer night here in town, and this weekend is looking like DOW2 time.
  15. Yeah it got REALLY hard as you got closer to the end. I debated cheating but afraid it would ruin it. Half the game has zero combat, then it does, then it ramps up on you like an ex-girlfriend who missed her period.
  16. Holy shit it's like $30 on D2D. GoGamer lists it as $17, but out of stock. Amazon has it for $18. Still high. Don't think it is available on Steam though (shame)
  17. Weird... I think it's still available on direct2drive. I got mine there awhile back for like $5 or something on sale, but never ended up playing it until just recently (got distracted).
  18. Nah I had started listening to some HP Lovecraft Audio books while working and it reminded me that I wanted to try it out. I've had no major technical problems with the game that I noticed. It crashed once when I hit the windows key and try to open it back up from the taskbar. It has that 2004-5 era checkpoint save system which was all the rage. I'm not crazy about that, but I was able to work past it to enjoy the game. I'm actually not a huge fan of "startle+gross" horror games like Dead Space, FEAR, etc etc. They don't really "scare" me and get boring after time. There is something generally unnerving about this game though, it's just creepy. It's the good kind of "woo that was a little creepy". They don't use the "jump out" tactic very often, so when it does happy it really makes you look twice, usually with a great subtle atmosphere build up that had gone unnoticed. It has so many little details and polish put into the world design for 2006. Without spoiling anything, but just looking into windows or above or behind you can sometimes reveal things you never would of thought was there.
  19. Flower

My best description of me playing Flower. At first I was like this: Then it felt like more of the same and I was like this: Then I got to the later puzzles and I was like this: Then I had a few beers the next day and played some more and it felt like this:
