There's something quite enthralling about Dot Blocker while listening with headphones. -

I apologize for the page stretching, but this is Important Stuff. -
Not of video game origin (not sure if this vocal arrangement was recorded for the game or licensed/whatevered from the choir that sung it), but this specific performance of this song provided a big enough impact in the opening mission of Homeworld that quite a few people now associate the song with the game. fXRJBK8oJSA The original piece is just as sad!

Who was it that named his SC2 battle.net account "Games"? Blizzard is offering one free name change "in the near future." http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/blog/572264 -
The Idle Thumbs Podcast Episode 6: Shoveling Your Hat and Crow

Your discussion on bullet-time in multiplayer games reminded me of a Half-Life mod titled The Specialists, which held its roots in action movies such as The Matrix or John Woo films. Its implementation of bullet-time was quite good, in my opinion. It was one of the powerups that would randomly spawn in pre-determined locations in the levels. When activated, you would move at a slower speed than normal, but all players within a certain radius would move at an even slower speed. The same applied to projectiles. This gave you a bit more time to line up your shots (or kung-fu moves) while looking badass. I could not find a decent example of this online, so I managed to find a server and record a few seconds (I was genuinely surprised to see four servers with a few people playing on each). W1xnhea2Z24&fmt=22 Despite having the advantage, I still got my ass handed to me. Also, I feel that this is extremely relevant: iBxgAmdPQWg Good lord, three of the five posts I've made here mention Jeff Goldblum. -

Oh man, I remember DinoPark Tycoon. It was installed on the computers at my elementary school. For a long time, I tried to scrape up enough cash for the goddamned "Vegasaurus" and ultimately ended up being hugely disappointed when I finally bought it.
