Anyone else for Burglar Bill? How about the Funny Bones? I definitely recognise Not Now, Bernard although I couldn't tell you if I enjoyed it. That Space Vampire book looks totally awesome. There's a vampire, he's in space - what more could you possibly want?

Oh shit! I have always, always, since I was a small boy, always wanted to do that. I thought I was the only one.

I've played about an hour or so into MI4 now and I was pretty much going to say what Udvarnoky just said. Basically this would have been a brilliant Sam and Max game. Going into a bit more detail regarding the humour being hit and miss: I'll often come across a line where something funny is subtly implied and will make me laugh only to find that this was the set up and the a moment later punch line spells it all out for you. This happens alot and it kills the joke, it's like the game is constantly screaming in your ear DO YOU GET IT? DO YOU GET THE JOKE? WE MADE A JOKE, DO YOU GET IT? DO YOU GET IT YET? HOW ABOUT NOW, HAVE YOU GOT IT NOW? which I find really insulting and annoying. Other times though there'll be a subtle joke that's left on it's own and I genuinely find it amusing, it is very hit and miss. I get the reverse of that. Whenever people write MI for Mission Impossible my brain fills in Monkey Island.

For me it would be The Man by Raymond Briggs As I got a bit older I discovered my Dad's massive collection of pulp sci-fi novels. I still go back and re-read a couple of them from time to time, my favourites were Bill the Galactic Hero and The Stainless Steel Rat both by Harry Harrison.

Oh hell yes (although, to be honest, I think you look better in the first two pics). I love all those John Hughes brat pack flicks. Not in an ironic, post-modern way - I genuinely enjoy them for what they are. Now if you'll excuse, I'm going to watch Pretty in Pink and I'm going to cry at the end. If that means I have the mentality of a 14 year old girl then so be it.

I haven't played it since it came out, so I'm a bit hazy on the details, but I remember that it didn't feel like Monkey Island to me. I seem to recall that the humour was off and the characterisation was inconsistent with the previous games. I also remember being extrememly indignant about the whole Herman Toothrot/Governor Marley thing and finding the monkey kombat intensely irritating. I'll play it again and see how I feel it plays without the weight of expection that I had playing it the first time.

Greeeeeat... Say hello to the "misinformed" generation
SignorSuperdouche replied to ThunderPeel2001's topic in Idle Banter
Well Jake, everything you brought up is a legitimate concern, but I don't think it's fair to dismiss the idea because it might get fucked in it's execution. I'm not saying this is the right answer, I'm just not sure it's the wrong answer either. I certainly see no harm in the Governor of a state bringing it up for discussion. -

Whilst the Governor may not have a firm grasp of what he's talking about, I don't necessarily think it's a bad idea. If the state purchases text books in pdf form rather than a hard copy for each student then I don't doubt significant savings can be made without having a detrimental affect on the quality of teaching. -
This thread was supposed to be for awesome E3 news.

Are LucasArts reviving another old franchise?

All of those points are either baseless conjecture or nitpicking by people who decided that they hate everything about the game before they even saw it. This is nothing but a toddler's tantrum.

Truth ^ I thought that looked pretty fun actually.

I'm not sure what to make of Natal, obviously the video was staged and we don't know what it will actually be capable of, but it would be really neat if you could do some basic motion capture and export the animations into XNA. That's really the most exciting use for it that I can think of.

"Ug" is too distinct as a sound, you want more of a nondescript grunt.

So who's going to be there on Sunday? Anyone fancy going for a beer afterwards? I'm much less of a cock in person I promise.

I made that joke, like, six months ago. Nobody laughed

I love that Guybrush has a voodoo doll (of LeChuck?) permanently skewered on his sword. It's such a stupid little detail but it's so ace Also there is potential here for more Sam and Max cameos.

Oh man that's fantastic. I've just been going through watching all her other videos and, with a few exceptions, they're all just as hilariously wrong. My personal favourite was this one 72eOUZsrZes

Idle Thumbs 29: Dreaming of Gillen
SignorSuperdouche replied to Jake's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
Following Nick's lead, I dug out my copy of Blade Runner last week and played it through. There's an awful lot that Westwood did right even though it does get a bit tiresome at times. The multiple paths through the story and random changes are sweet. It felt pretty cool doing the VK testing and I loved using the Esper machines to analyse photographs. Sounds like I really need to grab a copy of The Last Express. I've been meaning to play it for ages but I just never get around to it. -
I think it looks pretty sweet too. The way I see it, the old ITV series with Jeremy Brett is the definitive traditional interpretation of Holmes and I find it unlikely that a film made along the same lines would ever come close to it. I think it's a smart move to try and take it in a different direction.

"There is no uncanny valley any more," declares French developer
SignorSuperdouche replied to Wrestlevania's topic in Video Gaming
I'm sure this is what you meant but, and I think this is worth explicitly stating, just because it's all that matters to you doesn't mean mean that it is the same for everyone. I'm also not sure it's fair to say that the gameplay is stuck in the past. From the little we've seen the gameplay has clearly been tweaked since Farenheit. It is evolving much in the same way that the RTS or FPS genres have evolved over time even though they retain many of the core ideas. If you don't happen to like this sort of thing that's cool, nobody likes everything, but I think you're being unduly harsh. -
Monkey Island 1 special edition coming to XBLA

That sounds most risqué. -
It is my understanding that he left that Kabbalah business behind after Revolver flopped.
