Idle Thumbs 41: Space Boss: The Lord of Space
SignorSuperdouche replied to Jake's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
No, the page is getting bad HAI GUYZ LETS CHANGE THE CARACTERS NAEM TO MONGOOSE! ITS FUNNY COZ ITS RANDOM!!!!11!!! LOLZ Way to kill the joke guys -
Theoretically it could reverse your polarity and turn you into a dude magnet.
-
You could have tried calling 55 WIZARD ON and played your file down the phone. Then you'd just have to wait until it was included in the cast and Bob's your uncle.
-
I didn't like it either. I really wanted to like it but the controls are horrible.
-
The "you have to play it more than once to experience all that this game has to offer" thing is mostly an illusion. You'll get 99% of the same content every time you play and the differences are minor and inconsequential.
-
I'll add my name to the list of people who think it's well worth getting despite how crappy it gets towards the end. The first third really is cracking.

This seemed vaguely appropriate, or if not vaguely appropriate at least vaguely humourous: Gaid72fqzNE

I fucking hate websites that play music at me without warning, but I'm willing to make an exception for The Charlatans *drifts into a nostalgic haze*

When I said you sounded like a conspiracy theorist this was the exact example I was thinking of. The oil industry did not kill the electric car - it just simply wasn't, and still isn't, a feasable option. I find it highly unlikely that the oil consumption of cars is a main source of income for the oil industry and even if it was the majority of electricity production uses fossil fuels anyway. The big oil companies (all of which also produce natural gas as well) would simply divert what would be going into cars to power stations to produce electricity, reducing the costs of distribution in the process. If the big oil companies were so worried about this why haven't they prevented car manufacturers from improving the fuel efficency of their vehicles?

Sitting on a product is not the same as fighting "tooth and nail to keep this shit from taking root". I can understand sitting on something because it's not economically feasable or there isn't a market for the product in it's current state, but I think there's enough competition here to prevent anything beyond that. Maybe I'm being naive here, but I would've thought that, all other things being equal, coming out with a significantly better product would increase your market share and improve the standing of your brand whereas sitting on technology just gives your competitors the chance to come out with something better first.
-
You sound a bit like a conspiracy nut when you say that. Battery manufacturers are constantly looking to change the way they make batteries and would love to have technology like this. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if this research was funded by one or more of the big players.

No, no. You're thinking of fags and beer.

'Time Gentlemen, Please!' from Size Five Games

As adventure games the puzzles are mostly average to good but where they really shine is in the writing. If you like games that make you laugh there's not many that are better than these.- 178 replies

Heh, I love the massive NO CAMERAS sign behind you. It adds to the hardcore, rebellious nature of the photo.

YHTBTR was cute, that is just bullshit.

I really enjoyed the episode, more so than episode one. My main issues with the game are the sound quality and an annoying bug (I assume) which meant Guybrush kept giving the same, totally unhelpful, hint over and over. All the good stuff has been highlighted by others already so I wont go into too much detail but briefly: I'm really enjoying the story, Dom's voice acting is perfect, new environments were great, writing is fantastic. I hoping the season finale features .
-
Awesome! Yeah but it was manufactured, so not actually all that awesome.

I think David Cage said something like if your character dies you pick up the story with another character and there are four or five playable characters in total. If all of your characters die then the story ends. I'll definitely be picking this up at some point, even if it gets slated, just out of curiosity.

Do you do anything creative in your free time?
SignorSuperdouche replied to Thyroid's topic in Idle Banter
Like Toblix, I stuggle to ever complete anything but I start loads of projects. My current project, which I've semi abandoned already, is a weird RPG/adventure game loosely based on . There's also a novel I've had on the back burner for well over 10 years that perpetually mocks me.I also occasionally dabble in vector art. I'm not particularly skilled but it's easy to look like you are. -
Ah, now I get it. Thanks Toblix, that's super clear to me now.
-
Ah ok, thanks So if the light sources are static, rather than dynamic, that makes the shadows significantly easier to draw? That makes sense to me because instead of having to allow for a general case you can lock down a buch of variables and just code for a much smaller subset of cases - is that how that works? Anyhoo, the trailer is pretty cool. I've never really played any id games (I played Wolfenstein 3D as a nipper) and I, rightly or wrongly, basically had them down as the guys who made technically excellent games that lacked soul. This looks like it may have more subtance behind the gloss than I was expecting to find.
-
I'm pretty ignorant about this sort of thing. Could someone explain, in the simplest terms you can, what the implications of not having fully dynamic lighting are please? Would I be likely to notice the difference?
-
I just came across This Is The Only Level which is kind of a sequel to Achievement Unlocked. I guess it's a comment on the genericness of games. Or something.

What sort of details are you looking for? I reckon I've got your name and date of birth but not much else so far.
