I'll pick this up seeing as it is pretty short. I love the Stalker games and appreciate the movie for what it is.

Stalker: Call of Pripyat. You don't even need any mods or fan patches. Amazing game.

I think I'm done with XCOM, played it for about 20 hours. The more I played of it and thereby the better i became, the less I enjoyed playing it. It just comes down to luck with the shots when you know how to play properly and that sucks.

Just finished it. Last level was a bit disappointing (Cleared it in ~10 mins non-lethal). Especially coming off 'The Flooded District'... A. Mah. Gah. Soooo gud! Probably my favorite section of the whole game.

My brain interpreted that in a hilarious way and I imagined Steve running around a room with a dude passed out on a couch.

Just finished snoozing old Sokolov and bringing him to The Hound Pits. Impressions so far: excellent level design, art(Models, textures. I don't know why but it looks a lot like a Valve game), sound(music, ambiance, situational stuff and the mixing of all that) level design. Couldn't give a shit about the story and the characters (Thank god it's a video game and a good one at that). Voice performances range from pretty good to awful (Did they get a random guy off the street to voice Piero?) Been playing with all UI off except 'interactive' and 'pick up log'(A man wants to know what the hell he's picking up). Only had to turn on objective arrow twice. One because the game didn't clearly message a thing that made it impossible to complete the main objective and the second time because video games has made me lazy.

Maybe THIS could be the next epoch? If Doug or whoever is running the server would bother downloading the 2.17 GB(24 GB unpacked) files. The server also needs some mod called Bukkit. Sounds fucking amazing.

On the topic of satire in games. Could Braid be considered satire, both thematically and mechanically? It plays it very straight in both of those categories (Too straight on the theme side if you ask me). I might just be a stupid person who doesn't understand what satire is.

I had an idea for the next epoch of the server as it has become rather inactive. Make it pure survival, so no commands (/fly etc.) thus making PvP natural (à la DayZ). People will team up, set up bases, infiltration, social/political wheeling and dealing like in Eve or Neptune's Pride. The web map would obviously have to be turned off.

One Brad Shoemaker was allegedly heard saying something about a wizard in a less than cheerful tone. You should totally have him on the cast again for Explode Mode 2.0.

YES! I finally beat it on easy after 20 something runs, using The Kestrel. I had 3 shields, 4 levels of engine, full stealth with stealth weapons, rock plating, 2 Burst Lasers II, one Burst Laser III and a defense drone II. Such a triumphant feeling. I actually jumped out of my chair, fist pumped and shouted "YEAH!". Normal mode here I come!
