I haven't watched any of them, but some pretty critically acclaimed talents came out of Dogme 95: Lone Scherfig best known for Italian for Beginners and An Education and Susanne Bier who took home an academy award for In A Better World. Bier also worked on the television miniseries Night Manager (based on the Le Carre book) featuring Tom Hiddleston and Hugh Laurie (which I have seen).

In terms of Johnnie To, I'd recommend Election and Exiled. Also if anime is fair game, Satoshi Kon's entire oeuvre is worthwhile. My favourite of his is probably the series Paranoia Agent, but you can't really go wrong with him IMO. Also, absolutely don't miss Nekojiru/Cat Soup. Edit: also Miike has been mentioned already, but I'd recommend the first entry in his Dead or Alive trilogy. The opening 4 and half minutes especially. The film predictably cannot (and does not try) to keep that breakneck pace, although the ending certainly does an interesting thing as well. Miike has a surprising (? maybe not, given how prolific he is) amount of range, from the kind of more normal horror Audition, period samurai story 13 Assassins, and the more contemplative The Bird People in China, to the pulp schlock of Fudoh: The New Generation to the plain weirdness to be found in Visitor Q, Happiness of the Katakuris or his Dead or Alive trilogy.

I’m a huge fan of Wong Kar Wai and I could recommend nearly everything of his except his foray into the west ‘My Blueberry Nights’ which I haven’t seen, but am given to understand is not good. Of the remainder, I probably have the least affection for Days of Being Wild because the budget/production quality on it is weaker, and 2046 whose plot kind of doesn’t hang together despite gorgeous production quality. Probably my top 5 in descending order would be In the Mood for Love Chungking Express Ashes of Time (redux, I guess, though I am not 100% sure what the differences are) Fallen Angels The Grandmaster

I will note that while you may not like doing them, doing the side missions is precisely how the game intends for you to level up for the main missions. The xp rewards even for low-level side missions tends to not be insignificant even if any loot you get will be low levelled.

Just want to ditto the Punch-Out/Super Punch-Out dual run is really good. I would say if you're only going to watch one, it's the one. Dragon Warrior is a masterclass in rng manipulation, but I know I turn based rpg is probably a hard sell for some folks.

Apropos of nothing in particular, I do want to note that the microtransaction grind is not especially onerous. I haven’t been playing every day (and at most play 2 “cycles” on days I do play) and have been able to get all the christmas items, all the extra crafting slots, and both kk and tom nook chairs with 100+ leaf tickets left over.

I'm with you on the other stuff, but I've never had a problem with this. You put out your request early in the day and then check it again late in the day and it's fine? I mean I am probably near the limit cap on friends so that might have something to do with it. The problem with the quarry is the whole acting of asking for help is so tedious when you have a long friend list. It's three taps to send one request, and takes easily around 5 minutes to get through the whole list (which if you don't know who's going to decide that's a day they're not playing, you want to do just to make sure you're covered). But yeah, basically I have been able to visit the quarry for like at least a week consecutively. It's just a hassle is all. The easy solve there would be "ask for help from all your friends" as a single button press, but I guess that runs counter to them wanting you to pay leaf tickets to get in.

I like lost legacy a lot. I think the open area was a good change of pace and the silenced pistol is super OP, but fun regardless. The sequence on the ran a bit long, but otherwise the game as a whole did a good job of not overstaying its welcome.

I'm a pretty big To fan. My favourite of his are probably Election and Election 2, but others I've liked include Exiled and Vengeance.

This is pretty much apropos of nothing, aside from Escape from LA and it both featuring rescuing women in a vaguely dystopian future, but I heartily recommend Streets of Fire. It features a cracking 80s soundtrack, Willem Dafoe as a PVC clad biker gang leader, Diane Lane, and the B actor Michael Pare being asked to deliver the one note that's precisely in his wheelhouse.

IMO it's not just the act itself that makes something harassment or not. 2 things off the top of my head that would apply in this hypothetical situation: 1) Could you reasonably be expected to know that the thing you say/manner of touching is unwelcome. 2) Is there a power dynamic present that would make her hesitant to say no despite that being what she would want to express if free to do so.

After finishing it, I saw that one of the achievements is for spotting the cat in EVERY AR scene. I saw the cat in like...two. That's me, good ole "Sherlock" juv3nal, never misses a thing.
