Idle Thumbs 247: The Clone Progenitors
wahwah replied to Chris's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
Ha, I had that exact same reaction! -
I'm a sucker for historical stuff anyway, but I recently watched the two seasons of The Knick back to back and came away highly impressed. One of those rare instances where everything comes together for me, great actors, directing, cinematography, amazing soundtrack by Cliff Martinez... can't recommend it enough!

Our school had a shortage of regular classrooms at one point, so we were moved into the computer lab full time. I remember we played a lot of Half-Life Deathmatch and Starcraft during breaks and it was the only time where people came to school early out of their own free will. We enjoyed at least a few months of daily bite-size LAN parties until teachers found out.

On the other hand it's probably a good time to pick up a used 'old' 3DS for cheap (which I did). Right now Xenoblade is the only title that's exclusive to the New 3DS. Nobody knows how many more there will be. Or if they'll be any good. I can always sell it and get a new one in the unlikely case a New 3DS exclusive comes out that I must have.

Comedy podcasts are hard I think, or maybe I just haven't found the right one yet. Only one I really liked a lot was You Look Nice Today but there aren't any new episodes coming out. Which is why I went through the entire catalog twice already.

Thanks! The Stanley Parable was actually the game that started my recent screenshot obsession, after every corner I just saw something I wanted to take a picture of

that section was one of my favourites in the new Dragon Age:
-
The scenery in Dragon Age Inquisition looks fantastic:
-
Nice! I listened to both of these a ton this year Other hightlights for me were: Sharon Van Etten - Are We There Tweedy - Sukierae Caribou - Our Love
-
Blackadder, of course
-
Have a few to give away to forum regulars: Blades of Time - Limited Edition Grid Dungeons: The Eye of Draconus Ichi Murder Miners Planet Stronghold Battle Group 2 Q.U.B.E. Director's Cut Gun Monkeys all steam
-
Proteus looks nice I've really gotten into taking screenshots a lot more over the last year or so, especially when I can do them HUD-less. Also been starting to collect some of my favorite screenshots on this tumblr here

Haven't played much from this year that got me really excited. I really liked The Banner Saga and, to an unexpected degree, Thief And probably Dragon Age Inquisition is going to be at the top here, but I'm "only" 20 hours in so far... I feel I should mention the Diablo III - Reaper of Souls expansion as well, it made the whole game just a lot better
-
Any more invites floating around? Would love to give it a try

I think you can be in only one clan, but in several different communities. Clans also give you a clan tag, <IT> in this case this: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/blog/12891941/reaper-of-souls%E2%84%A2-first-look-clans-and-communities-2-19-2014 probably explains it all

Huh, that's weird, it's just called "Idle Thumbs" Ok, I just tried it myself, if you have English (British) selected on the left, it doesn't show up, select just the "English" option
-
there's a button in the lower right corner somewhere (I think)
-
Me too! Already have you on my list I think, I'm probably gonna play a bit over the weekend. And don't forget to join the Idle Thumbs community, last time I checked it had only 2 members
-
I'm sort of playing again, have preordered the expansion and am looking forward to that. There's now a clan and community feature, so I just went ahead and created an Idle Thumbs community on EU. No idea if there's much to it other than a chat room though

I can see where you're coming from, but at least with Nick Cave and Atoms for Peace it was the complete opposite for me. Haven't listened to Nick Cave in ages and this brought me back. Same with Atoms for Peace, that's the first thing since In Rainbows I really like. (I know Atoms for Peace isn't the same as Radiohead or his solo work, but I tend to put all these in the category "stuff Thom Yorke makes") And for me the new Bill Callahan isn't as good as Apocalypse, but still pretty good.
-
In no particular order: Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Push the Sky Awaymy favorite track from it: Atoms for Peace - AMOK Bill Callahan - Dream River Boards of Canada - Tomorrow's Harvest

You can do that here: http://store.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com/
