  1. Unnecessary Comical Picture Thread

    ...The hell?
  2. Thanks, Idle Thumbs!

Heh, I already did. I think I actually said why it happened. TLDR version: lack of sleep.I chipped a bone in my left arm, so it's still in a sling. I eagerly await my doctor's appointment on Friday, to see if I need surgery or not. Hopefully not. Other then that, I didn't do any damage to myself that won't heal on its own.
  3. Books, books, books...

I've started reading The Prefect by Alastair Reynolds. It's a sci-fi novel, and that's all I'm going to say about it. It starts out slow, but has been building up steam and is getting progressively more interesting. RECCOMENDEDEDDD!!! A warning, though: DO NOT READ THE COVER SLIP, IT GIVES AWAY EVERYTHING.
  4. Sandbox Woes

I believe Red Faction has a PC version, that was pretty fun.
  5. Injuries That Prevented Gaming.

Not really, it's happened once before, when I was 13 and on no anti-seizure medication. As I said, it was pretty much my own fault this time. Yup, although not nearly as severe as some other people. Flashing lights just give me a headache. This was brought on by lack of sleep for an entire school semester. I actually managed to play a bit of Shattered Horizon before, so not all hope is lost!
  6. I can attest to this. I have ONE microphone, and that's a hassle to move AT ALL. Transporting 4 mics, a mixer, pop shields, stands, all the assorted clamps, and whatever else you need would be a nightmare.
  7. Injuries That Prevented Gaming.

Yup, I'm fine, the seizure was basically my fault; staying up late despite knowing I was prone to seizures. Protip: that's an extremely stupid thing to do.
  8. Injuries That Prevented Gaming.

Well, I just had a Grand Mal seizure, and dislocated my arms, that's stopping me from gaming. Disclaimer: that might not be how you spell Grand Mal.
  9. Emergent Gameplay

Far Cry 2 really doesn't have any emergent gameplay to speak of, don't bother.
  10. I love how this is on the actual developer wiki.
  11. Deus Ex 3

I actually really liked the first Deus Ex. I actually got into an emergent combat scenario involving a generator, a whole army chasing me, and a bathroom stall. It really was reminiscent of FAR CRY 2 My excite-o-meter is set to "cautiously optimistic".
  12. Deadly Premonition

Thank you! I just wanted to emphasize angry I was. Also, plot points are being slowly revealed, through putting spoiler tags a bit too late in a paragraph. I'm glad I finished the video runs before this thread started being censored by the military.
  13. To tide you all over until the next episode, here's this, it's not that good, but, it should amuse. http://tindeck.com/listen/ixwq (Sorry for the double post.)
  14. Or, he was using the Wizard to defend himself in a high speed-chase, and was eventually caught and executed without trial. We may never know.
  15. The threat of Big Dog

Really? I think it looks adorable.
  16. (IGN.com)

Here's a real one I found: "Deadly Premonition is the definition of a system seller; it will make you want to sell your system." --IGN.com Pretty snappy for IGN, huh?
  17. Castlevania Judgement: WHAT THE #$%@!?!

No kidding. What the hell happened? I thought his art was better then that.
  18. Oh man, how did I forget about the World of Goo soundtrack? I enjoy how ridiculously epic some of the songs are, yet they manage to fit with the imagery of dragging goo balls around. Here's the soundtrack, for those too lazy to look: http://kylegabler.com/WorldOfGooSoundtrack/
  19. Ooh, that really is lovely. I may need to investigate that soundtrack. I've never played the game(adventure games aren't my thing), but that song alone makes me want to play it.
  20. The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

Well, it does make a modicum of sense, they have been moving towards that style. In Silico had some of the trappings of the various genres of rock, and even Hold You Colour had a couple of rock elements, although they were subtle. I still agree with you, though. Hold your Colour is one of my favorite songs ever, and I'm sad that they diverged from that style so wildly.
  21. Happy Birthday!

    I second that sentiment!
  22. Anyone Remember?

Chris B. Remo, Chris Boost Remo, whose nickname is "Boost". Chris Boost "Boost Space Boost" Remo.
  23. S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat

Cool, thanks. One problem I have is that the first time I ran COP, it ran beautifully. The second time, it ran like shit, and has continued to do so. It hasn't stopped me from loving the game, but it is vexing.
  24. S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat

I meant the link to whatever site the COP mod lies on, if any. I knew about Complete for the first S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
  25. Anyone Remember?

If you plant a joke in this thread, forty years later, it will grow into a tree.
