  1. Obligatory comical YouTube thread

The AutoTuned version sounds quite a bit like most contemporary Hip-Hop, to me.
  2. Unnecessary Comical Picture Thread

His website is even better. http://www.garyspivey.com/
  3. Piracy has hit a new low....

    Yes, indeed. Multiple tears.
  4. Holy crap!

The Idle Thumbs site has been converted into a slot machine. http://yfrog.com/4zthumbsslotsp
  5. Call of Duty: Space Warfare 3

"In a surprising move, Activision announced in a press release this morning that they are buying the entire internet and turning it into a Modern Warfare website." I was surprised.
  6. Piracy has hit a new low....

The point of paying 1 cent is that it's a cent that goes to charity. Saying "well, there's plenty of other people who will buy it, so why should I bother?" is a slippery slope to see someone sliding slowly and sinuously down sounthwards. Honestly, the biggest section of pirates who download cracked games is probably teenagers. I can attest to the fact that we rarely have enough to to pay for games, so... Piracy! Full disclosure: I have pirated games before, but it's made a squirm every time, and I universally buy them anyway. Dawn of War 2, being an example (and I'm glad I did, the commercial version was very different, and much better then the prerelease version. Also, the reason for pirating MW2 is... not exactly what I'd call sound.
  7. I did it! Now what?!

I'm notoriously shy, so doing that is far harder then it should be.
  8. An article wot i writ

I thought it was based towards people who do their gaming in a padded cell? Also, Spelunky obviously contains mature themes about mortality and the pointlessness of repetition.
  9. I did it! Now what?!

See, one of the advantages of being a teenager is that you never have enough money to purchase games. On one hand that means you don't have a backlog of unfinished games that sit on your shelves and haunt you! The downside being that you never have enough money to purchase games. You win some, you lose some.
  10. These weapons are better than nature!

I'll definitely purchase something from them now, I'm constantly menaced by pieces of meat hanging off hooks. You'd be surprised.
  11. Keeping your data safe

I actually lost all the data on a drive when it got hit by a horrible virus. Although I was trying to download a no-cd crack for a game I had lost the cd for from a very suspicious website. On a computer running no antivirus software. So it was completely my fault, that time. Soon, lo and behold! Advertisements started streaming through my speakers whenever I was connected to the internet, and I couldn't open .exe's. I never lost a terabyte of data, though. Jesus. I would feel horrible if I lost the 30-odd songs I've made since switching to Windows 7.
  12. Well, I cam do both sound design and soundtracks, so hopefully I have a better chance at getting work. I doubt that'll be the way I'll make my living, but it'd hopefully provide a bit of extra cash on the side. Plus, it's fun.
  13. ...So there might be no remix this week. Everything was going fine, until a certain point. Suddenly, Fl Studios flipped out, and, well... see for yourself. I can't make the audio file go any slower, and whenever I replace the file, it still runs at chipmunk speed.
  14. I'm wondering, does anybody know what it's like on the soundtrack side of the business? I'd imagine that'd be less soul-crushing then, say, programming.
  15. I see. I hope she returns for a functioning cast, the Idle Thumbs Podcast needs more guests.
  16. Making Music

If you're into electronica, I'd recommend FL Studios. I've been using it for a while. As for other genres, I've heard good things about ProTools, but it won't work on my computer. Why? Only Cthullu knows. Also, if you get the $50 version of FL Studios, it comes with a good drum plugin with a crapload of high-quality samples. Example: http://tindeck.com/listen/vnck EDIT: Apparently, Tindeck doesn't stream anymore. Sadface.
  17. Fallout: New Vegas

    Best picture.
  18. Deadly Premonition

I would disagree on that front. I'm not easily shaken, but there are some pretty disturbing things in that game. None of them are the enemies, however, who are hilarious.
  19. I'm still intenselycurious about who that unidentified female voice is. Also, I have discovered that being destroyed by finals week is not very conductive towards remixing a podcast.
  20. Post your face!

    You succeeded. Thank you.
  21. Fallout: New Vegas

Oh yeah. WAY more. They pretty much improved on everything in Oblivion, with the exception that the world became rather bland, sadly.
  22. Fallout: New Vegas

I'm not terribly interested in this, as I think I'm one of the few people who liked Oblivion more the Fallout 3. I am mutant human.
  23. The threat of Big Dog

Is it just me, or is that thing made out of LEGO's?
  24. Best Boy Scouts badge, ever.

I considered joining the Boy Scouts until I found out that it actual involved leaving my house. So that was right out.
