  1. "Ethics and Journalistic Integrity"

Disgusted and really bummed both Jenn Frank and Mattie Brice are out of games writing. Fuck everything about this.
  2. What's a thumb gotta do to get in the guild? I ask because it seems the in game IRC thingy is abandoned in favor of the Guild.
  3. Idle Thumbs DayZ Server!

I'm Clavin on the server. From what I can tell we have a bunch of random dudes on our server at the moment who are all playing together. I ran into one of them saying Hi and being friendly. Well I guess the guy I ran into first said I was super nice to his buddies in their Skype call and since then I've been running into them one at a time. One of them said "Oh, YOU'RE CLAVIN?! Dude, you're like legend in our group now because of how nice you are! This is so awesome!" I guess being cool can get you far in DayZ. lol
  4. Idle Thumbs DayZ Server!

I thought the event was happening on Sunday night. Sounds like it already happened?
  5. Idle Thumbs DayZ Server!

Hey! Just wanted to reintroduce myself. I posted a long time ago and have decided to return! I haven't been a part of a forum community for a while and would love to get back into that sort to fun with the Thumbs community. For good this time, too! The recent doublewhammy combo of Sean and Olly's Most Dangerous Game in DayZ and Idle Thumbs DayZ server going up pushed me to spend the $30 on DayZ. I just got my tax return back and the prospect getting back in with the commuity via DayZ was too good to pass up. I feel it's a fair toll to pay to be a part of this unreasonably silly fun. I'm looking forward to gaming with fellow thumbs and being a part of the forum chatter here! See ya around. EDIT: haha, totally thought this was in the "Introduce yourself" tab I had opened. Whoops! Ah well. Still works here.
  6. The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

Most 90's brit pop is so boring, though... (only one I enjoy that comes to mind is Oasis) And I'm from Atlanta, Georgia. No patriotism for Canada. That and I really dislike anything Pitchfork has to say about anything because they're snarky hipster scum who never have anything good to say. I like BSS. Lay off. lol I can't stop listening to Fang Island today. I just wanna run around giving everyone high fives and run through a field giving my sisters kids piggy backs while this album is blaring. y55NVGZ3ibY
  7. The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

http://www.brokensocialscene.ca/ I'm way too excited for the new album. Check out the three songs they're streaming on their site. So good.
  8. Mad Men

I just got my Mad Men Season 3 DVD in the mail. I love this show. If you like period pieces and character driven dramas and haven't watched this show yet, hop to it! Season 4 will be airing this summer! It's the only thing I watch on TV currently.
  9. Nintendo 3DS

I'm glad I stuck with my 1st gen NDS now. Hahaha! Sounds interesting. I'll wait on a price point.
  10. Mass Effect 2

I loved the story and setting more than the combat. The combat was just a nice aside for me. Certain party members' trust missions get way interesting. Maybe you'll find something you enjoy there if you stick with it.
  11. Red Dead Redemption

If this game walks the walk and talks the talk we may be looking at a GOTY contender. Mass Effect 2, this and Fallout New Vegas are my top of my "GET THAT DAY ONE!" list this year. And I already have ME2.
  12. Mass Effect 2

The ones where you talk to your crew and story centric ones are cool. And it's fun to ask people about the history and lore of the universe too. I'm not here to change your mind about the game, but I think you're doing it wrong still. :x And there are differences in the Paragon and Renegade options. Did you import an old character that was strait up Paragon or Renegade? Have you been picking only one or the other? Sticking to your guns typically keeps it interesting for those options. And there are times where there are only Paragon options and no Renegade and vise versa. Don't give people who haven't played it the wrong idea about that stuff. I've played the game twice and can say in full confidence that is not true. And the interrupt system gets really awesome later on in certain crew loyalty missions. And the endings and paths do change. I've heard where endings have played out completely differently than mine. Which is the coolest part about that game to me! There are points where you can end up with different party members based on your actions. How far have you played into the game? What all has happened so far? Are you on the Omega space station still? Based on your post before, that's what it's sounding like. Enlighten me a little here. How much Mass Effect 2 have you trudged through? See my thing about Mass Effect 2 is that they approach the idea of a video game RPG from a different angle than other RPGs out there. It's a game that's fully voiced wherein you can inhabit a character. You literally play the role of Commander Shepard in a fictional universe. Not take care of stats and all of that jazz like in most western RPGs. So the game plays out more like a movie. The game relies on keeping its player interested via its dialog and events and string it together great gun play that never gets old because of the biotics and team control. (Which, BTW Toblix. What are your thoughts on the gun play and tech/biotic skills and controlling the team? What class are you playing and all that nerd talk stuff.) They made those mistakes in the first game. The stats lead you to believe you could use your crew members to hack stuff for you and what not, which wasn't the case. That disappointed a lot of people to the point they just stopped the game right there. The inventory was a mess in the first one. That made a lot of people quit as well. For ME2 they got rid of the bloat and kept what was strong and reiterated the level system so you clearly understand your party has combat skills only. If the dialog system and environments bother you that much, then just move on to another game, then. The tough pill to swallow may be the fact that Mass Effect 2 just might not be for Toblix.
  13. Mass Effect 2

The dialogue trees <3 you in Mass Effect! Especially if you go all the way Renegade or all the way Paragon.
  14. Mass Effect 2

I respect your opinion, but DISAGREE! I thought the environments were great. The shooting felt solid, and the biotic power recharge meter was fantastic. One of the better more simplistic HUDs that actually felt informative. And the dialog is part of the whole entire "role playing" aspect of that game. If you are trying to breeze through those segments, then in short: ur doin it rong!
