YES. Seriously, let's do this. We leave them with everything else though.

THESE!

When you listen to tomorrow's episode you will learn that we had our mic setup reversed which totally screwed our audio quality on ep 70. (Called an Angry God because we felt like we were experiencing the wrath of one when we went back to listen to it). That being said we bought some nice headphones that we use quite often. Thanks Kickstarter.

My recommend (having thought it over) is that Steam Groups make it hard to connect when you actually want to play, but Day-Z Commander (which is sick, btw) has a friends function built in. Worth checking out. http://www.dayzcommander.com/

There is decent group chat in the game (as prox. voice is important to the game). I recommend putting Thumb somewhere in your name, maybe? I picked a woman character and her name is Maginley if people see me running around.

I have a flashlight on my shotgun. How do I turn that on?

Oh! Evan reminded me yesterday that I'm actually on a panel with Dean Rocket Hall at PAX (on Friday) so if you're going to PAX come check that out. Notch is on the panel as well. I will mostly be discussing the integration of bicycles into Minecraft by virtue of my Day-Z experience. Edit: Dean Hall is the Day-Z developer.

Oh -- and yeah, we should try to find a better way to all join up on the same servers. I'm in SF (obvs) so sorting by ping.

Well that was horrible. I spent the first two hours of the game slowly starving and needing water; finally found a farmhouse that had a little food in it and a shotgun. Crawled for another 20 minutes and found a canteen and then got jumped by a Pierre. (The beret wearing ones). He chased me through the forest until I turned and shot him but missed with all of my shells. I'm bleeding badly now and can't stop running to reload. Finally I get about thirty feet of distance between us but my blood rating is now below 4000 so I'm all blurry and drifting in and out. I shoot blindly into some white light and some how kill Pierre. I was able to stop the bleeding and drink some water but now I'm lost in the woods and can't see; making me unable to find any animals to kill to slowly restore my health. I'm sick and alone and I'm not sure this game is fun.

I understood what Chris was saying and was simply adding that society manufactures taboo out of the things created within that internal process. This taboo then gives a lot of (in this case game publishers) pause in outputting something an individual work when it is felt to be taboo. Books and movies have moved beyond that self-censorship and are able to represent one's internal relationship with a myriad of "fucked up" things but games haven't so I, like Chris, was refreshed by The Binding of Issac simply because it eschewed that particular system of censorship.

In Mario Kart DS you had to blow into the mic to fill up your balloons (your hit points, essentially) and in this DS game called Spectrobes you had to say "waaaaake uuuup" at a unique pitch to hatch your Pokemon. I mean Spectrobes. Also, voice chat is absolutely integral (in the exact way Brendon describes above) in DOTA. (But not necessarily uniquely integrated).

How would you handle that in a game likeThe Walking Dead, Dear Esther, or the game equivalent of a quiet drama?

Man, this thread will make an appearance on idle thumbs 68.

In the spirit of cool bikes you can actually buy -- a newly released, small (250cc!) bike from Cleveland Cyclewerks if you're looking for a round-towner or just getting into riding. It's got awesome old-school styling and retails for like 3k new.

and both of these things (i would also endorse the "flow" theory although it's the lack of flow and the wreck caused by it that terrifies me) get at my why i love my moto (and a bit about games) a game that keeps saying "yes, you can go there too" or "yes, that is a thing you can totally do" usually keeps my attention for hours. my motorcycle is an extension of that -- i feel like i can go anywhere i want and i'm outside, connected to the world the entire time. good observations, guys!

WHAT THE WHAT (also, I'm a cold-blooded monster from a state where deer get killed all the time, but man, not even gonna check on the guy? i guess he's in a race?)

The Idle Thumbs Lords Management Consortium - Dota 2, LoL, other Lords Managers unite
Sean replied to Sean's topic in Multiplayer Networking
Definitely multi-purpose. Spear-head a group, call it The Idle Thumbs Lords Management Consortium and direct folks here (or to the main site)! If LoL vs Dota vs HoN gets confusing we can always spin off threads, groups, etc. -

I think it would be fantastic if some folks ran a LoL game for people, built a group, etc. I probably won't spearhead it but we can definitely recap/organize games here and whatahaveyou. I should get Jake to make a real consortium logo so you guys could use it in LoL too. -

I am back from a far-reaching and wandering vacation and am looking forward to managing a lord.
