  1. Awesome! Well your hope was not misplaced, friend.
  2. Guys, we are so overwhelmed. Holy crap. Let's do this thing. TO THE MOON!
  3. idlethumbs.net

I actually wore those shoes without socks after having my bag lost by an airline and now I prefer it. I also didn't think my ankles would be in that shot.

    THANK YOU
  5. Based on what Jake is drawing I don't think you want to hear that cast.
  6. Minecraft

Dear Thumbs: I don't own Minecraft but sometimes I see Jake playing and think it looks fun. I guess I should do this, huh?
  7. Can't really say what it "officially" is. We've licensed the rights to the comic book. As for echoey: it was recorded on a lark in my kitchen, as Jake pointed out in the post on the TTG forums. We'll do it proper if we keep doin 'em.
  8. That's great feedback -- we're definitely going to tool away on the format. We want to keep it free-flowing but will have to structure it a little better. We've been gathering a bunch of Q&A stuff from the forums so we might just do a full-on mailbag some episodes. One thing I've been thinking about is bringing in a member of the team for a 20 minute chat about their job, TWD how they got into the business, etc and then launching into the QA. We'll see. Learned a lot doing the first one.
  9. Idle Thumbs Camping

That sentence coupled with your forum avatar cracked me up.
  10. Idle Thumbs Camping

There is no way I will be there but I support this happening one hundred percent.
  11. Non-video games

Jake and I played Bacchus's Banquet at PAXeast -- it wasn't this show's Weinhandler, but it was definitely a lot of fun. It's a card game where the theme is that Caligula is having a party and everyone has to eat and drink and bone each other while trying to accomplish their own personal goal unique to their character. You have a belt with a buckle that moves up and down 10 spaces and if it reaches the end, you've loosened your belt as much as you can and you explode from over-eating and are out of the game. You pass food and gifts in secret around the table: some might help you towards your goal and some might be poison. You go down notches on your belt by having sex or being tickled with a feather. Goals range from murdering Caligula, just eating and drinking a certain amount, or remaining sober enough to the loot the party of valuables. Like I said, it's no Weinhandler, but with a theme like that, it's hard to complain.
  12. Batman: Arkham City

Yeah, I feel the same way -- I practically 100%'d the first one, so I know I'll love this, but the style, animation and production design of these games just never gets me excited. I'll punch a guy in the face or drop down from a ledge and ruin a fella and then I'll be into the game but I'm in the same boat with the trailer.
  13. i love you guys /takes it all back /resurrects chris /starts with his giant balls
  14. /is reminded why the internet is horrible. /logs off of Idle Thumbs /deletes account /kills Chris Remo /did that last thing for sport
  15. I was really balancing a line of what to and not say on the cast -- Epic Mickey is definitely Warren Specter's game and, from what I've played, his vision 100% -- which I totally respect. We spent a few years on the project and got enough umph behind it to get it to be a priority for the console division, but at that time it wasn't even a Wii game. Everything changes. I'll try to scrounge up a post-it. If/when we ever do another cast and I have my thoughts arranged in a better fashion, I'll try to walk through the story -- Chris is a super good interviewer so maybe him asking me questions about it might work out easier; trying to just riff on this story and not make it sound like we were bitter for Warren stepping in and being Warren is tough. I got a crazy opportunity at a very young age to pitch stuff at Disney and no matter the outcome, I was pretty thrilled. That being said, if ten years from now someone called me up and said "Come make the Mickey game you pitched in 2005 at Disney," I would immediately assemble a world-destroying team of folks to execute on the original vision -- it would be different from what was released, by a fair amount, but it's important for folks to know that I have the utmost respect for everyone involved with what was ultimately released and those who gave me an invaluable opportunity.
  16. PAX East 2011?

    It is my post-PAX resolution.
  17. PAX East 2011?

Echoing Jake's sentiments -- it was great to see everyone and I'm sorry I scooted after about 15 minutes. Got myself a lil' taste of the Boston Botulism: aka food poisoning. Also apologies if you were a Thumb at the Westin who had to hear me puke in the public bathroom. It's mind blowing how great everyone who listens to the cast is -- having only contributed for a short time, I really can't believe the outpouring of generosity from anyone I meet in the real world who has heard the cast. Thanks so much, guys and gals.
  18. Props to Jake for Games Kasavin: in the running for one of my favorite Jake titles of a Thumb.
  19. Wait, this video is delayed? #WeekendAtBURRRRRRRNIES
  20. Bottom line: A programmer here (and friend) at TTG decided to make a very bold wager with me. The winner gets to control the other's Twitter for a day. I won and I'm relatively capable with words and a practitioner of brevity. What we need is to get him a few thousand followers. Help me and take to the Reddits. Upvotes! Tell your friends! And remember to follow www.twitter.com/hobostew http://www.reddit.com/r/reddit.com/comments/ejpd2/my_coworker_and_i_bet_control_of_our_twitter/
  21. WTF is Telltale's new game?

Completely unrelated to the game, Steve and I were talking about these during his "get the fuck out of town and go make a bioshock you dick" drinks last week and I quietly realized that we were ripping them off in Poker Night. As the game is a bottomless pit of references, I was pleased by this.
  22. WTF is Telltale's new game?

Those, my friend, are highly coveted, plastic-covered CCG cards. For the house deck, the King represents console gamers, the Queen represents board-games and the Jack represents pretentious, wein-handling CCG dorks.
  23. My roommate works for Gama Go and he brought home these: http://store.gama-go.com/Uni-Corn-Corn-Holders-p/ea0102.htm We don't eat a lot of corn, so that's where they ended up until we do.
  24. Your collection is vorthless! Hahahahahaha!
