So I finally got a PS4 thanks to Black Friday, and I have Destiny. I've put my ID on the doc, but it's Gwardinen in any case. I'm only about level 10 at the moment but I'm gradually working my way up if anyone is working on their alternate characters or something.

HOTS... no the other HOTS. The Lords Management one damn it!
Gwardinen replied to Frenetic Pony's topic in Video Gaming
Yeah that's my main problem with the game. In fairness to them, though, that's how it works in LoL too. Edit: Oh, you do know you get gold for levelling player account and hero levels too, right? -

I actually now have Cho'gall, so if you're on EU and you want him, let me know. -

I'd also love to do the Cho'gall thing, but I think can only play with others from EU. -
Stealth has always seemed like more trouble than it's worth in Bethesda games.

This is excellent. I'm so glad you posted this because I basically don't watch TV anymore and would never have seen these otherwise.

Rat Fur Dead - Warhammer: Endtimes - Vermintide
Gwardinen replied to Vulpes Absurda's topic in Video Gaming
Lu, toblix and I have this. For my part, I wouldn't exactly consider it a revelation, and I definitely miss the versus mode from Left 4 Dead, but it is good fun. If you enjoyed L4D enough to want to play that kind of game again in the Warhammer setting, that is what this is, no bones about it. -
Even without being quite this honest, do you think it would be a good idea to have a conversation in which you ask, "What would you moving mean for us?" Whatever answer she gives might be enlightening.

Detroit: Does Quantic Dream of Awkward Subtitles?
Gwardinen replied to Smart Jason's topic in Video Gaming
Haha, me too. That was bizarre. I've always had a very up and down relationship with Quantic Dream games, but I do always end up playing them all the way through. I imagine the same thing will happen this time and I'll be left feeling vaguely dissatisfied but broadly glad that it exists. -
Hearthstone: Because what Magic really needed was F2P mechanics
Gwardinen replied to Problem Machine's topic in Video Gaming
I pretty much just came in here to say is there any chance we can change the title of this thread? Or is it possible to completely hide a thread from yourself in view new content forever? Because even though I've seen it hundreds of times, every time my eyes pass over this thread title a small part of my brain gets annoyed and I feel my overall cognitive capacity drained slightly for a while so that my own mind can explain to me that the title doesn't make sense again. I know, brain, shut up. -
FYI, I know that the console versions of the enhanced edition have splitscreen coop now. I don't know for sure whether the PC version does too, but you may want to look into it so that you could potentially just buy it once. Edit: I checked, the PC version does have local coop too.

Is anyone planning to play through Divinity Original Sin Enhanced Edition from tomorrow? It has full campaign coop and I think that'd be a great way to experience it. The rub is that it's also a very long RPG, so it's quite a commitment to try to do it all with someone else. I'm trying to decide whether I can commit enough to seek such a partner.

I actually kinda like Matt Damon too. At least I like many, maybe even most, of the films he's been in. But casting my mind back I can't actually find a memory of him in which I understand what emotions he's portraying, unless he's literally shouting or crying at the time. I might have a really strange version of face blindness that extends only to Matt Damon.
-
Aaand now I can't UNsee it.
-
He shouts a bit at one point. I don't know, I'm not sure I've ever been able to read emotion on Matt Damon's face. When I think of every role he's been in he looks the same in my head.
-
Err... if you're going to the cinema to see Matt Damon put on a display of profound dramatic depth, this may not be the film for you. If anything it brushes past the psychology of survival even more than the book.
-
It's also a little more present in the book. A lot of ancillary science and Mark Watney-focused stuff had to be cut down for it to be film length, and it's still fairly long. That said, I think they did well with the pacing in the film, and if I felt anything was missing it's only because I knew there was more originally. As a standalone piece of work, it holds up well. It also got more actual out loud laughter from the audience I was in than any film I recently remember going to.

Not certain about the motorcycle jacket look of the leading male, but otherwise I'm kind of interested in this.

As long as you manage to find common terminology within the group, it's fine. The people I played with came to call the Who's On First? module "word puzzle", the password module "anagrams" and the keypad module "symbols" or just "Greek shit". The place we haven't found consistency yet is in explaining the words in Who's On First - some people call UR "uniform romeo", some "letters UR", etc. This can be a problem under time constraints, if you think you know what someone means before they're finished talking. Many mistakes have happened when describing "your" as "your no apostrophe" when by the time you've said "no" they've already clicked "you're".

This video is absurd and amazing.

I'm downloading it at the moment, my Origin ID is Gwardinen. I never played the Battlefront games before, but I've usually become tired of the Battlefield games fairly quickly so there will need to be some significant differences or the setting will have to really carry it for me to stick around.

Just wondering whether anyone else is playing Wildstar at the moment? I'm on the EU server Eko because it's where the PC Gamer and Rock, Paper, Shotgun guilds are. If no better options present themselves, I will likely join those, but it'd be cool to have some Thumbs on the friends list even if we don't form an organisation.

The inevitable F2P happened! I am currently redownloading the client because I quite enjoyed this game but just didn't quite have the time/money combo to make a subscription worth it. Anyone else interested?

This is amazing not so much because she hadn't seen it (it's a popular film, sure, but I would imagine there are still plenty of people who haven't seen it), but because she didn't know the twist anyway. "He was dead all along" has basically become a byword for twists in popular fiction. M. Night is known almost exclusively for twists, beginning with the Sixth Sense, and the Sixth Sense is the prime example of the twist film. Popular culture has iconicised that film in every way it possibly could. Making it to 2015 without knowing the twist of the Sixth Sense, or at the very least that there is a giant twist that the whole film is based around is shockingly unlikely for an adult in the western world. I'm so pleased for you that you got to experience this particular unicorn of a situation.
