tilde Posted September 3, 2015 So I saw this video for "ViveCraft". and it really sold me on the concept. To walk around and construct a rollercoster in miniature and then get to ride that rollercoster at "real size" is pretty compelling. I wonder if a SimCity like game will be among the launch titles. Anyone else excited for VR headsets?
clyde Posted September 3, 2015 I'm very excited about the Oculus headset. Most of my game-budget decisions for the past year have been based on how to save up for an Oculus and Nvidia 970. I'm looking forward to making environments in Unity and walking around them. I'm also excited about things like boat-tours, plays, and operas. I'm super excited about a lot of the possibilities, not all of which are heavily interactive.
Cordeos Posted September 3, 2015 I am definitely waiting for both Oculus and Steam VR to come out before I decide which one to by. I have seen some disappointing interviews about exclusivity and the Oculus that makes me wary of it. I really worry that a too walled off VR ecosystem this early could really do a lot of damage. Spenny Posted September 4, 2015 The first time I tried an Oculus I was convinced that I would buy it as soon as it was commercially available. 2 Years later and I'm feeling much more cautious about being an early adopter. I wonder how much the first to market device will dictate the direction support for VR is developed.
Ben X Posted September 4, 2015 There's a VR thread that's been going for a while in the Gaming board: https://www.idlethumbs.net/forums/topic/9954-4-3-2-1-we-are-we-are-vr/
