Erkki Posted January 14, 2018 Has anyone played Kona? It was in my Steam front page and they say it's similar to Firewatch and The Long Dark. However the story seems a bit dumb from the trailer...
Ben X Posted January 14, 2018 Nope. John Walker says "if you want the experience as I had it – going in completely blind, knowing nothing other than it was a scripted adventure using the techniques of survival games – then take my word for it that it’s a top-notch experience with a slightly damp ending". https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2017/03/24/kona-review/
Henke Posted January 15, 2018 Played through it last summer. Not as good as Firewatch or TLD but definitely worth a go if you're a fan of those and find it at a bargain price. I love the narrator's accent and his dad-jokey style of commentary. I also like the way it looks and the object interactions. The narrative is kind of a mess though. The game quickly dumps about a half-dozen narrative strands on you and I'm not sure any of them get resolved in a satisfying way. The whole second half of the game, everything after Reveal hidden contents the ice wall , felt rushed and unfinished.
