MrHoatzin Posted November 11, 2004 I haven't had me one of them pinko commie collective intellectual property programs in a while. I know that there was Kazaa, but then Kazaa became evil and then there was Kazaa Lite which then became evil but then there was something new... which has since probably become totally evil... What is the current hot file sharing program?
AGA Posted November 11, 2004 If you want programmes, it's BitTorrent you want. Best client for that in my experience is Azureus. Combine that with a good torrents site like Suprnova and you're set. If you want music, it's SoulSeek ya needs.
ysbreker Posted November 11, 2004 bittorrent is teh hotz now, but if you don't want to hassle with all those torrent websites you can always try emule. Which looks most like kazaa but works much better and isn't that evil.
Pappa Posted November 11, 2004 (For Music) Soulseek. Definitely. SLSKSLSKSLSK!
AGA Posted November 11, 2004 So basically exactly what I said then?! (apart from emule, but don't use that because it sucks)
Wormsie Posted November 11, 2004 I hate those "share 40 GBs of your hard drive and you can access our files" programs. Direct Connect is like that. Or actually, its hubs are like that. I can't share my files to the internet - if I do, either Teosto will shoot me down or my internet connection will be disabled.
toblix Posted November 11, 2004 eDonkey is the new eMule.
Kolzig Posted November 11, 2004 But eMule is still the best.
Twilo Posted November 11, 2004 But eMule is still the best. eMule (and overnet, and various other donkey-style networks) are nicest for ebooks, soulseek is the nicest for music bittorrent is the nicest for everything else (especially if it's big)
manny_c44 Posted November 11, 2004 I love eBooks, but they're hard to find (well, I guess you could probably pay for them somewhere)...so I'm probably going to reinstall overnet if what you say is true. Bittorrent is the best though, for full CD's movies and games.
Erkki Posted November 11, 2004 I use Azureus and eMule (that indeed sucks a bit though, but I've not found anything better that isn't BitTorrent). I guess I should try that soulseek for music.
