I now own a Dreamcast. Game suggestions please!

I've got a modded Xbox which is used for any emulation and mystery media needs, so no need to use the DC for that :) BUt thanks for the recommendation.

Mostly it was lauded for its graphical prowess. Plus it was made by Yu Suzuki (Virtua Fighter)... and even though it's predominantly boring, the fleshed out universe was pretty cool. Plus, the voice acting was hilarious. Also alot of people haven't played old great adventure games, so this was their first exposure to a laid back semi-cerebral game.

Best Dreamcast games:

- Soul Calibur 2

- Shenmue

- Shenmue II

And, uh...

- Rayman 2

And that's it. Rez is cool, but you might as well get the PS2 version. It's about as easy to find (by which I mean...not at all).

I'm not big on my Dreamcast at all. But then, I'm still bitter there was never a Panzer Dragoon or Shining Force game made for the thing.

or a fantasy zone :opa: :opa: :opa:

There are lots of average games, like House of the Dead and Sonic Adventure, but that's all they are. Skies of Arcadia was okay, but I grew tired of it pretty quickly.

The best game for the platform is probably (IMHO) Shenmue 2.

@Loonyboi: Soul Calibur 2 was never made for Dreamcast. ;)

Rayman 2 is perfectly suitable for Dreamcast, and it's a flawless Michel Ancel game.

I've many times wondered why they didn't make Panzer Dragoon Orta for Dreamcast, that would've been a killer game.

Oh right, duh. Soul Calibur 1.

Yes. Yes it would have been. Although Orta looked so good on Xbox that I'm not going to complain specifically about that. They should have made a different game for Dreamcast. Like a sequel to Panzer Dragoon Saga (gameplay-wise, not story...the story was finite as is).

Seeing as this topic moved to emulation a bit, I wonder if anyone can help me with this burn I'm trying to do.

So I just dusted off the Dreamcast to finally attempt some emulation, starting with the NES. I got Nester, which is supposedly the best NES emulator for dreamcast (any differing opinions?) and then tried to use DCFactory to compile the thing, then burned the image on Nero. As far as I can tell, I've done everything that DCFactory requires.

Is there an easier way to get this to work? I've already used about 5 CD-Rs and none of them have booted successfully.

Thanks to anyone who can offer advice.

Just thought I'd let you guys know that I did get it to work, even if I had to go to a Windows 98 machine, use some self-booting nester program and burned with DOS instead of doing the Nero disc image. Anyone else had similar problems?

I just want to jump in and recommend Chu Chu Rocket, even though everyone else has already recommended that, and I'm doing so only because Chu Chu Rocket deserves to be mentioned in every post from now on.
