General Fuzzy McBitty Posted April 12, 2005 I just bought Jak and Dexter 1 used the other day for 12 bucks(probably around 6 or 7 pounds for you brits). The racing game looks like it could be interesting... I'm not going to judge it until I play it... but lets be honest... PS2 needs a Mario Cart.... so why not let Jak be mario? Dingo Chavez Posted April 12, 2005 I knew it was a sell-out when they decided to make Jak a "bad-ass" and started imitating GTA, which the press applauded, of course. A racing game is no surprise, no surprise at all. Mr. T: I liked Jak 2. Dingo, you fool!
General Fuzzy McBitty Posted April 12, 2005 Hmm. Perhaps the sequel will be called Jak xXx: Xtreme Beach Kombat Racing. Don't even get me started on xXx .... how the fuck does Vin Desal turn into Ice Cube...shit like that makes me want to set Holly WOod on fire.

JoeX111 Posted April 14, 2005 I can't decide if that's better or worse than Ratchet from Ratchet and Clank turning into the bastard love child of Samus Aran and The Master Chief. http://ps2.ign.com/articles/602/602513p1.html
mee Ronn Posted April 14, 2005 Dude, talk about jumping to conclusions. After Naughty Dog finished up their Crash trilogy they created Crash Team Racing, a kart racing game that totally rocked. Any fan of Super Mario Kart can agree with the merits of CTR and I would go as far to say that it is what Mario Kart 64 should have been. ND has finished up with their planned trilogy and it seems like they want to have some fun with the characters and world they've enjoyed making. On top of that, there was lots of in-vehicle action in Jak 2 and 3, so its even less of a tangent than CTR was. And on top of that the game isn't even just the typical kart game due to it's inclusion of a psuedo story line and it's mission/quest game play mechanics (sounds similar to Smuggler's Run). I'm not saying that the game is going to be the best thing ever, but don't turn on ND because of the stale nature of the rest of the kart crowd (I would be the first to say the genre as a whole is utter crap -- when Woody Woodpecker jumps in on the action you've got a problem). Naugty Dog proved that they don't simply pop out crap with their popular characters when they made CTR, I think they deserve the benefit of the doubt. They give the rights to Universal and let them churn out the licensed crap.
General Fuzzy McBitty Posted April 16, 2005 Did you play nitro cart? How did it fare? I want to play a cart game on PS2
General Fuzzy McBitty Posted April 18, 2005 I'm playing the first Jak and Dexter game. Is it just me, or does it remind anyone else of star wars?
