Jayel Posted May 22, 2004 I just visited Gamespot.com and looked at 10 most popular PC RPGs. 8 of them were MMORPGs. W T F 1 City of Heroes 2 The Matrix Online 3 World of Warcraft 4 Star Wars Galaxies: Jump to Lightspeed 5 Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 6 Guild Wars 7 Dungeon Siege II 8 Dark Age of Camelot 9 Final Fantasy XI Chains of Promathia 10 EverQuest II which makes me believe that... gamespot visitors love mmorpgs OR nobody's making good single-player rpgs

Alex Posted May 22, 2004 well it is kinda tough to think of any brilliant RPGs which have been released recently. KOTOR was superb while i was playing it, but i don't think i'll go back to it for years, if at all. Other than that, there was morrowind which was spectacular but kinda old now. Oh, and planescape torment which is even older! All in all, it's not looking good for single player RPGs
Oystein Posted May 22, 2004 Well, I personally enjoyed Troika Games' Arcanum a couple of years back. If only Tim Cain could get the rights to Fallout again and make the ultimate Fallout 3, I'd be very happy.
GregD Posted May 22, 2004 Long are the days gone of the classic RPGs unfortunately.... Final Fantasy 6, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana and Secret of Mana 2 on the SNES... some of the best ever made. If MMO RPGs werent: a) So envolving that you potentially dont have a life outside the game. Expensive/pay per month Then they would be good, also there's no real end to them from what I can gather so it's rather pointless playing something you know you can't finish. schepton Posted May 22, 2004 I really want to get into Star Wars Galaxies...But can't really afford it.

Jayel Posted May 22, 2004 Yeah the last good single player rpg I played was KOTOR, and that was like what, almost a year ago? It's sad really They're harder to come by than adventures, methinks.
ThunderPeel2001 Posted May 22, 2004 It seriously sucks ass. I've been playing it since release and they're STILL "fixing" it. (Don't ask me why I'm still playing it, except I paid for a years subscription in advance... ! :/)
