Dad 'n Me (at Newgrounds.com)

A 2D brawler made by Tom Fulp and Dan Paladin (of the Behemoth and Alien Hominid). The art is great, programming is unparalled, and gameplay is good. The only problem is that most of the enemies do not attack, but its still fun to beat up little kids :clap:

My best combo was 32 hits.

Some moves I've found - aaaasa; dash ss; dash, stop, ss.

how did you get 32 hits?

Anyhow, I love the art of the game and definitely, the non-pc flavor of it all.

If you run forwards and tap S alot then he does a nice windmill thing with his arms. If you do that to a group of kids then you can get set up nicely and carry on twatting them after.

Good way to get a high combo.

I really get a sense with this that the Flash game is a bit of a test for how their next game is going to be. I mean, we already know it's going to be a Guardian Heroes'ish beat-em-up and this is definitely in that vein (if not simplified).

They sure like their 16-bit action, though.

I got to 666, but could have gone on forever. Some guy with no life will probably find out what the max is.

Shit, that's nice. Sweet game, too. I just love Paladin's artwork so goddamn much. Very nice spot, man. You are awarded 10 awesome points. These points are arbitrary, and in no way recorded by me, but you get them nonetheless. Enjoy!

That was nice, it's almost as addictive as Orisinal's games (though not as pretty obviously). I got a 32 combo, but I'm aiming for a good 60 next time.

Just played it before seeing this thread- I was extremely impressed.

The ninjas are a bit intense, but I loved all the time I spent playing in.

I was really dissapointed with Alien Hominid. Where games like Metal Slug introduce bosses with weaknesses and opportunities to avoid deaths, Alien Hominid's were really difficult- not because it takes skill to beat them, but they just didn't have recognizable weak spots.

What made me angriest about the game as a huge MS fan was that you can't distinguish your own fire from the enemies! For most of the deaths I racked up playing AH I had no idea who or what killed me.

I completed this thing on my second try. Funnnnnn! :yep:

The only issue i had with it was the final boss, Sunchips. Whenever i would end up getting to him just late enough that he could get a shot off, he would shoot me repeatedly until i was dead. this doesn't make sense because originally he would reload after only 2 shots if i ran past them... then he busts 7 straight and doesn't let me flee. I found that the most effective killing methods in the game are: AAAASSS, SSS, dash + a, dash + SSSSSSSSSSSSS. The dash with S is unstoppable because you can fly with it from one end of the possible area distance to another if you get a good start! :fart:

btw, whoever says he got that 666 combo? yeah nice photoshop buddy. I highly doubt it because the best place to combo is with all of the Gothic kids and those 1 screen before them (u get all... 6 i think... of them by rushing past initially), and that only got me 90 something.
