I never thought I'd see the day...

that I'd actually agree with President Bush. This whole deal with several US ports coming under the control of a company based in Dubai is utterly ridiculous. What's even crazier is the fact that Bush is right about something for once. Damn congress and its election year politics. This along with Bush's new emphasis on renewable energy sources has really taken me aback. What's come over him?

Simple; he wants to build a legendary status around him to be remembered as a great president. So these last few years he'll devote to doing something 'great'. It's not out of atonement for his sins and lies and most definitely not because he actually cares or anything. It's common practice.

Erm isn't the renewable energy sources thing just a political red herring? I can't imagine it being anything else.

I know. That's way I'm so shocked. I'm on his side for once.

Marek, while it's quite possible that Bush really doesn't care that much about renewable energy sources and it just doing it to improve his image, the very fact that he's just talking about it will probably have great effect. Americans who've been eating the Whitehouse's bullshit about global warming not being a problem and there being no issue at all with the way we're using fossil fuels will hopefully start waking up and thinking after seeing an old Texas oil man speak out against his own intrests, regardless of his sinserity. After all, who else will hard-core, Christian conservatives listen to on the matter?

Pat Robertson?

I agree though. It's really awkward to be a liberal defending Bush to a bunch of conservatives.

It's hard to take Bush seriously when a couple days after Bush says he wants to reduce dependancy on oil, his energy secretary says that he didn't mean it "literally."

Therefore, this strikes me as a very political move, brought on by the fact that people have started to take notice that the man is incompetent. Once he really gets something done, I'll applaud him. If Al Gore had been president the last five years, we would already be where Bush says he wants to go.

Why's that?

Meh, it was lame. I was sorta referrring to Miffy's comment about getting back into the pile and getting gay with each other. I probably should have quoted his post. Or shouldn't have even posted in the first place as it was a retarded post in the first place.
