Ginger Posted July 31, 2006 Has anyone played the Japanease version of Gitaroo Man Live PsP? I haven't had the chance to play it on the PS2, but have heard many great thigns about it, and was wondering how big an impact not being able to understand the language will have on Gameplay. Cheers. miffy495 Posted July 31, 2006 Well, do you already know how to play? The biggest hurdle for you will be that the tutorial is in Japanese. If you know what you're doing already or have someone looking over your shoulder to explain what's happening in the tutorial, then you should be ok. Don't know if it's worth missing the story though. Despite the horrible voice acting, the story in Gitaroo Man is surprisingly good. The ninth level always makes a huge smile break over my face. Much more of a quality story than you'd usually get out of a rhythm game, at any rate. On the other hand, I would reccommend that you play it on PSP over PS2, given the fact that the controls just feel a bit more precise. So yeah. It's not too hard to get a handle on gameplay. If you're interested in the game, then you've probably already picked up the mechanics of it from somewhere. Whether or not you want to wait for "Q4 2006" to understand the story is another matter. Gameplay won't really be affected by the language barrier though.
