Kameo: Elements of Power? More like...Excrements of...oh, forget it.

Recommended Posts

Has anyone else beside me played Kameo and found it moderately enjoyable? It's hardly stellar gameplay from start to finish, but it certainly does have its moments. And it looks a bit pretty. Also, very shiny. Oh, such shining does it have.

I can't get those combos happening, though. I've no idea how that wretched system is supposed to work, and I can't really be bothered figuring out how you're supposed to do it. Something about "juggling" and "doom trolls", I think. I don't know, it's all too hard. It's not too bad in co-op, though.

As my signature can attest to, I've been playing it recently. I'm alternating which game I play by days. Day one: Dead Rising. Day 2: Kameo. Repeat until one or both are beaten. Good fun. Just got Chilla in Kameo, just started the last day of Dead Rising. Progressing quite well in each. Kameo has greatly impressed me. Shows that Rare still has a bit of what made them the best back in the day.

I think the title that's going to put Rare back on the map - or finally break them - will be Viva Piñata.

It's looking superb at this point, so fingers crossed.

The article says some conflicts between pinatas may prove fatal. Thus, the essential question: Will they bleed candy?

I still have to play Grabbed by the Ghoulies sometime before I get Pinata though. It's the only Rare game (DKC to present) I don't have. (Haven't beaten PDZ or Kameo yet, but am working on both)

Yes, in a way.

You can use candy to buy things for your garden from the local shop - tools, seeds, etc. However this particular circumstance is a very peripheral way of getting funds, which is interesting considering what piñata are famous for...

To be honest, I think the whole game in general looks interesting. Plenty of gameplay facets and some absolutely stunning production to date.

Not only will the pinatas bleed candy, but other pinatas will try to EAT said candy if you don't pick it up fast enough. Any game that features family-friendly cannibalism has to be at least moderately decent, right?

Right?

...goddamn, those sheep look adorable.

Oh yeah! I'd forgotten about that -- quality.

That big green croccy does it for me every time, personally... :chaste:

Can't wait to see this in action. There are supposed to be wind effects in the game too, which causes all that crepe paper to rustle, billow and sway like a field of corn. I think I'd have to gouge my eyes out after seeing that.

Yeah, I think that Croc wins. I had to work really hard to get my head out of the tilted "awwwww...." position.
