Tanukitsune Posted July 15, 2008 I just tried the demo and frankly it doesn't seem to be anything special... I've yet to play Mass Effect but it felt like that with Norse mythology mixed in? And the most terrible aiming system ever! Ye gods! They make you might enemies that you HAVE to shoot in a specific area and they make it near impossible to aim! It really REALLy failed to impress me... at ALL!
twmac Posted July 16, 2008 Well that is disappointing as I was sort of looking forward to that one. Still going to check it out as I'm a big fan of co-op games of this ilk.
lobotomy42 Posted July 17, 2008 Well, that's disappointing. Silicon Knights did a great job with Eternal Darkness - I was really hoping they'd have a hit with Too Human as well. I'll hold out hope. And probably buy it anyway.
Tanukitsune Posted July 17, 2008 Ooh! So that's where I know Silicon Knights from! It is a just a demo guys, if the terrible aiming doesn't bother you, which you only need with the hammer guys because you have to shoot their arms off, then you might like it? And I'm the guy who liked Perfect Dark Zero but hated Gears of War, so maybe I have no taste?
miffy495 Posted July 17, 2008 Silicon Knights are also the guys who did the MGS GCN version... As for PD:0 I thought it was ok, but could never be bothered to finish it. Gears I did finish, but not until yesterday and I got it at launch. Both are good, but I don't think either was spectacular. I can't see hating either myself, but I can easily understand being unimpressed. I'll try the demo once I can get an internet connection for more than a few minutes at a time. Having a bit of a hard time of it right now.
Wrestlevania Posted July 17, 2008 Whoa whoa whoa, boys - puh-lease! I downloaded the demo earlier in the week and made the stupid mistake of firing it up whilst I ate my breakfast before work. I was an hour late--it's great fun! I can't understand what the problem is with the aiming system, it's lock-on based. And you can switch between targets easily. OK, the right-stick mellee combat is unconventional and somewhat automated. But it doesn't stop you causing mass carnage or performing some nifty combos. Taking down the really big hammer-wielding robots, by having to smash each piece of their armour off first and than jumping on their backs, is fun too. Just don't bother with the guns; the point of the game is chopping stuff into bits with a whacking great sword or axe. I'd say it's a cross between Mass Effect and Gears of War, but has far better combat than the former and galaxies more story and character than the latter. (I hated Gears, hugely over-rated IMO.) At least download and try it. I'd be pre-ordering this, but we Vanians are going on our annual holiday shortly (and I'm skint, as always).
Tanukitsune Posted July 18, 2008 Maybe you can chose a better control system? Because I use the same button to aim than to use the sword and if you simply press the shoot button you just shoot in the direction you're looking in? Frankly, even without that it didn't impress that much...
Wrestlevania Posted August 1, 2008 A simple analogy would be how snugly this cactus would fit in your rectum, were I ever fortunate enough to catch you. You auto-sliming bastards!
