Grand Thumb Auto XIV: Found and Saved

Recommended Posts

Just making sure we're on for the usual time. Not having a thread these past couple of weeks may have contributed to the low turnout, so let's get the word out there. Tuesday, February 24th, 2100GMT/4:00pm EST/1:00pm PST. Working out what time that is for you is the only barrier for entry. That and having one of us on Live. All are welcome, though having the Lost and Damned expansion will probably be a plus this week, as I believe the vast majority, if not all, of the regular players have it and will likely want to get their Road Rash on.

All you newcomers, if you have the chance come fire some rockets with us. We're quite friendly, honest.

Welp, low turnout again (how's that repair coming, toblix?) but interesting to try out the new modes. Didn't do Chopper Vs Chopper, as that's for only two players, but the other ones that we tried were pretty good. The bike races were fun, but with only 3 people once we'd dispersed early on pretty non-violent. I get the feeling with a bunch of people there'd be bats flying everywhere and lots of fun to be had. The most surprisingly awesome thing was the new co-op mode. I think it's called Club Missions or something similar. Everyone playing gets phone calls from (I think) Angus, the wheelchair-bound lost member, and the gang rides out together to topple the mission. The game will set a ride group leader (the guy at the front of formations) and riding in formation fighting rival gangs, hijacking drug-filled sedans, and escaping the FIB felt fantastic. I had to ditch my bike for the first mission of one of our sessions, so I spent a good deal of time riding bitch that round. A lot of fun that, as it allows you full aiming and shooting craziness. Wrestlevania got the best view of one of my happier moments, when I unloaded shotgun rounds into a pursuing cop and everyone in the car dove out of it on fire.

So yeah, good times. Club Missions is great fun, even with a small number. The other new modes seemed like they could be pretty sweet with more people as well (hint hint). Verdict on TLAD multiplayer content? Pretty damn fun.

Yeah everybody, stop being dicks and join in. BROS BEFORE HOS/JOBS.

Seriously though, as much as I enjoy getting to know Mr. 495 and Mr. Vania so intimately, I do miss having things a bit more populated for some of the modes, and it's clearly all about keeping me happy. But if it can't be helped, it can't be helped. DICKS.

You are the Pete. The Pete collective. The Pete continuum. A waveform of Peteness. A Möbius strip of Petitude.

I should be working.

Does that mean you need to pay or not? I assume you do, as that's how companies tend to fuck you, but you may be lucky...

Paying? I'm not paying for shit. If they want money, I'll let them keep it and buy me a Premium.

Holy Moly, apparently the warranty is back to being valid again. There's a return tracking number too, although it's not active yet.

I spoke to MS today about changing the delivery address, but they said it was impossible for "security reasons". This means I'll have to work from home one day just to wait for a package.

Of course, judging by the level of misinformation and confusion I've experienced every time I've communicated with the Xbox 360 service apparatus, I might just be able to call UPS and have them deliver it at the office instead.

Nope, it turns out UPS didn't let me change the delivery address. This means I'll have to work from home the on the day of delivery just to be able to pick it up, which is a bit annoying.
